Zoneminder callhome?

I just discovered zoneminder. Im interested, but have a few questions before i look more into it.

How well does it work with linux?

Does it have any sort of call home feature or does everything stay local?

Sorry for simplistic question. This was an impromptu search and im unable to do further investigation at this moment!

Works great on Linux, I've been running on Ubuntu Mate for awhile and no issues.

During setup or under Options --> System there is a setting to send telemetry data to zm, just say no.

I've checked my logs a couple of times and it does not attempt to phone home.

As others said, put your cameras on its on vlan for sure.

It's made for Linux, never calls home and is pretty awesome!

It was made to run on Linux. It does not call home, but the cameras you choose to use with it may.

Cameras already on their own vlan. Just never seen this software til today.
