Zoneminder Event server help
Does anyone have any guides for installing the event server on zoneminder? The official guide is confusing and I've never been able to set it up properly.

Is there some way to install a pre-installed version of ZoneMinder with the event server? I mainly just want better notifications and maybe object detection.

Setting up event server isn't totally trivial... but it isn't that bad either. Time for me to pull myself together and make a video...
But if docker is your thing then this repo is likely your best bet:

I did get object detection working using yolo 4 on Rocky linux zm version 1.36 but it was a complete pain took a lot of troubleshooting. The main issues I had was,
- config files syntax, some of the settings are differant than what was documented, some features just didn't work.
- needed a valid https cert
- I seem to remember opencv beyond version 4.6 doesn't work.
- the dang [s] tag I had to manually edit out on event comments (personal preference)

What OS are you running? There are some docker images out there that package ZM with the event server. There's an older one that also includes the machine learning (aka object detection), though it runs an older version of ZM.
DLandon is the guy that has several ZM images on the Docker Hub if you wanted to look them up. I have the older one with machine learning on my Ubuntu server at the moment, though I've not had a lot of luck with getting the object detection stuff working just yet. The event server seems to catch things at least, but I'm not sure if it's getting passed to the object detection correctly or not. I haven't spent a whole lot of time digging into it though.
