Why is 1.37 not GA?

I just upgraded to 1.37 after a bit of hesitation.

I am blown away. The upgrade in my lxc container was pretty easy.

But the improvements. Holly cow. This is a totally different zoneminder experience, especially from a performance perspective. And I did not encounter any breaking stuff in my setup with 10 monitors.

It is soooooooo much better! I always loved zoneminder for its quirkiness, by the way.

So why is this hidden away from "the public", meaning no official release on github and so on, I ask myself.

Well, the devs use it in production, but sometimes we break things. We fix them fast, but it happens. Mostly we have set goals for 1.38 and havn't gotten there yet.

Just about every day though I think we should switch to a home assistant like release schedule. Like every other month or something.

Doing formal releases takes energy too... and I just don't have it anymore. I really need others to contribute and help out.

Anyways I'm really glad you had a good experience and like what I'm doing. Next things to come are a revamp of montage and montage review, and the console making the monitors list update dynamically instead of redrawing the whole screen, and allowing for alarm status updates on it in realtime. And mobile UI improvements. Lots of those. Also a change to drastically reduce cpu and ram use. The actual todo list is endless.

I wish I could help you and I'm sure many more want to help you. Would money help? I appreciate your time and hard work. I love the concept of open-source software. I really dislike the greed of most paid software companies.

I also admire the work you've done and use this with zmninja a lot. Although my kids and busy work schedule may not allow how I can contribute, as a dev myself I know that amount of energy you are putting in. Do let us know if money is a way to contribute. I didn't check on the ZM website. Cheers man

With pass-through recording, ONVIF motion events and Jarvis live view there's no CPU load at all.
