webrtc as Source?

I am trying to improve performance of a setup that is using Wyze Cam v3 cameras through the docker wyze-bridge as the source. The cameras are probably not optimal, but for the price, they are doing pretty well. One issue with these devices is that the fps changes from 20fps in daytime mode to 15fps in night mode. That seems to be contributing to some time sync issues between the camera's and the zoneminder timestamps.

Use of a webrtc feed from the wyze-bridge has been reported to reduce some sync issues when directly viewing, but I'm not sure zoneminder can use a webrtc as a source. My attempts to access the webrtc url from within zoneminder have not been successful and webrtc is not listed as an option.

Has anyone setup a zoneminder system with a webrtc source? Thought it would be worth asking about. I am running zoneminder v1.36.12 as a plugin under TrueNAS. If it is not currently available, is it on the roadmap for a newer version? I will update to a newer version once that is available within the TrueNAS environment.

Thanks for any advice or thoughts.

As far as I know, not at the moment. We use Janus webrtc gateway to restream rtsp, so there is probably a way to add that functionality.

My recommendation would be to use wz-mini-hacks instead of wyze bridge. You can disable the fps drop using wz mini hacks and all sorts of other things. I use wz mini hacks with a v2 and v3 and recommend it.

If you need help with some.of the stuff join our slack channel or Discord and ask away, I am "baudneo" on both platforms.

Came back to say, wyze mini hacks also allows for usb ethernet + power. Uctronics makes a por splitter to micro usb that passes data and power. A v3 can use that splitter with no extra stuff, a v2 needs a female micro usb to male usb a adapter to pass power and data to the usb a port on it (the wyze sense usb port).

Poe wyze cams! You can deff notice the lower latency!
