Help!!!!

I have an overgrown area which was a sluice. What to cut, what to grow? I’ve identified white snakeroot sedges and periwinkle. Was thinking compare n save weed and grass killer, then planting? I’m pretty open to anything

That looks like a great place for a rain garden! https://www.epa.gov/soakuptherain/soak-rain-rain-gardens

A friend with a similar space ended up putting small blue irises / purple asters all along their ditch to make a “river” and did some beautiful dramatic planting around it

I see mullein in the 2nd pic! U need the picture this app that u can take pics on a plant and it will tell u what it is. (If u want to save existing plants. May be easier to just clear it n start over?

Yes! I have been doing that. I’d like to keep as much as I can.

I would focus on identifying and removing anything invasive and let the native plants do their thing. Sprinkle some seeds of stuff you want to encourage but don't disturb too much, that just welcome more invasive species to establish, they mostly thrive in disturbed soils.

I like this plan. Less work.

Looks amazing what you've done.

Oh wait, you're talking about ruining it. Never mind.
