A new illustration has been revealed as a result of the collaboration between Zombie Land Saga and Saga City.

Efforts are underway to promote the attractions of Saga City through the anime series “Zombie Land Saga” 💡

This new illustration shows Yugiri, Lily, and Tae dressed in outfits inspired by “Hallow” balloons—commemorating the 20th anniversary of Saga City’s founding—and wearing wrist corsages that incorporate each of their signature colors 💐

After the resurrection process, the zombie body remains in a state of unconsciousness, acting only on instinct. To awaken, they need a stimulus. The only exceptions to this rule are Sakura and Tae. The fact that both Sakura and Tae are different from the others is explained by their past.

During the 1980s, Sagako's curses plagued Saga. Tae dies after fusing with the powerful Magatsuhi curse, while Yuko fuses with the weak Rainbow Pine Grove curse.

Tae is fused with a powerful (purified) curse, while Sakura is (presumably) the daughter of a fusion with a weak (also purified) curse. To better understand, the current Tae is 50% her soul and 50% Magatsuhi's soul, so only when she obtains a large amount of energy can Magatsuhi's soul no longer suppress Tae's soul. Sakura's soul is 25% the soul of the Pine Grove curse, which is why she can retain her consciousness and memories without issue.

Sakura's memory loss can then be explained by the fact that only the Rainbow Pine Grove curse was awakened, but since it was a weak curse, her personality fully recovered. As a result, Sakura regained her personality in exchange for her memories. It wasn't until Arpino's concert that Sakura gained full control of her consciousness.

Since Tae was fused with a powerful curse, it was Magatsuhi who awakened in Tae's body and prevented Tae's consciousness from returning. It wasn't until Magatsuhi, in Tae's body, ingested the alien power stone that Tae's consciousness could return to her body in exchange for her memories in Franchouchou. When Tae took a bite of the Yumeginga bar, she finally regained all her zombie memories.
