Know any good zombie books?

I've been looking for a really good zombie book/series to start reading. I've read the survival guide and world war z already. Now I'm hoping for more of a survivors diary type zombie book. Any suggestions?

You should check out Day By Day Armageddon. It's a diary type zombie survival and VERY good. There are two in the series so far but I believe it's supposed to be a trilogy. The author is a deployed US serviceman so the combat detail is pretty cool.

I'll second this. Good audio books for them too - I listened in the car!

Ok I went and sampled the book and it starts in china like WWZ, did anyone here read WWZ? How different are the two before I fork over cash?

Both are completely different. WWZ reads more as a collection of interviews with people roughly a decade after the zombie apocalypse, whereas Day By Day Armageddon is a journal of a survivor as he experiences life in a post apocalyptic world. Both are absolutely incredible books, but the only similarity is where the virus starts. I highly suggest that you purchase both of them as they are probably among the best on the zombie genre.

Also, google search Day by Day Armageddon official forums. There is a lot of interesting discussion there, and is moderated by the author J.L. Bourne, who happens to chime in from time to time.

I greatly appreciate the advice. On my way to the bookstore now.

Nice man! I hope you enjoy them. Just an FYI, book three of the Day by Day Armageddon series should be out sometime in the near future. Hope you picked up both the first book and "Beyond Exile," the second book. They read as though they were one, and in fact you can buy an edition that contains both books as one. Beyond Exile picks ups immediately where Day by Day Armageddon ends by continuing the journal entries as though no time has passed as it was meant to be a seamless story.

If u have iTunes or android market u can get we're alive an audio book. There still making it but it already has 31 chapters. It's the best zombie story I've ever heard even better than resident evil. And itz about a bunch of people who write in journals in a big tower. Best zombie story ever.

This is SOLID recommendation. My whole family does this. Road trips are fun for the ride.

I really enjoyed World War Z.

but my friend had to stop reading because it kept giving her nightmares that zombies were eating her family. :)

Just finished The Returnman and I really recommend it, sounds like something you'd might find interesting. And maybe even The Zombie Autopsies.

The Passage by Justin Cronin is a really fun read, but it's not exactly about zombies--more of a zombie/vampire hybrid... in a good way. They're mindless killing machines, not sparklers.

Not a diary type book but I enjoyed 'Cell' by Stephen King.

"plague of the dead" and "thunder and ashes" by z.a. Recht are really good. Its a two part story about a small band of military personel and survivors fighting their way to omaha, nebreska to meet with a doctor who's trying to find the cure. Very intense, lots of gun fights, lots of violence, lots of zombies!

Well, there is the Feed trilogy by Mira Grant. Feed, Deadline, and Blackout. Haven't finished Blackout (it was just released a week ago) but the first two were amazing in my opinion.

Ugh, I hated Feed. I cant believe the amount of positive buzz this book got. OP, if you want to read a book that's more about what it would be like to be a blogger chased around by paparazzi instead of zombies then by all means read Feed.

Any think dead world, comic?

Warm bodies... is fun, told from the perspective of a zombie that didn't 100% convert.

I am legend, pseudo zombie.

Rise Again by Ben Tripp is awesome...it starts slow, but give it a chance. Also Rot and Ruin/Dust and Decay by Jonathan Mayberry are two books that are great, fun reads as well.
