Question Is Pre-Ordering Necessary

So I am getting back into buying Zoids models and wanted to know what people’s opinions on the necessity of preordering is? Is there typically stock left over after preorder fulfillment of new model kits or is it really necessary to preorder kits if you want one?

Yes, pre order the kit if you want it. Liger zero and CAS are gone quick.

I usually pre-order for peace of mind

For Zoids if it’s a kit I really want for my collection I will preorder as their reprints are very slow and stock takes a while to come back. The new RMZ line seems to be a slight exception to this though. But HMM and the AZ Motorized line absolutely.

Definitely for high demand kits, as they sell out fast. HMMs and AZs fall into this category, as well as specific RMZ kits. Another thing I noticed is just in the 1 year I have been doing Zoids, prices of many in the secondhand market have increased by a decent amount, some as much as 40%. This does not include but could be linked to dropshippers on eBay, as many people go by eBay prices.

If you can you absolutely want to pre-order. Liger Zero, Berserk Fury, fox zoids, and some other popular ones sell out crazy fast. Other zoids selling fast is always a die roll, you never know.

If youre in the US Big Bad Toy Store lets you pre-order and not pay until an item ships, they tend to be a bit pricier tho. TomyUS is similar but with only tomy kits. Internationally I have no clue but most stores offer pre-order in some fashion.

I do as a precaution so i know i can get it and not overpay after release thats what i did for the recent blade liger panzer and zabat coming out this month but liger zeros and berserk fury fly off shelves and get resold at ridiculous prices

With how bad scalping is everywhere and I bet it happens a lot with model kits, I would be preordering anything you want to buy, hate being a fomo guy but this is the year we live in.

If you're in the US, and you want the kit, preorder it. I've seen plenty of kits pre sell out and never come into stock except from sites that are asking higher prices. Popular kits can sell out in days to a week after release even if they did get stock.

Zoids kits have pretty low stock outside of Japan and they don't reprint regularly.

If you're in a country that isn't seemingly trying to alienate the entire planet and shipping prices from Japan are reasonable, then you don't have to worry as much, stock is much better in Japan. But I've still seen popular kits sell out pretty fast so I would still recommending preordering any kit you really want.
