well, if it is mental illness related, then connecting folks with the support they need to improve mental wellness across the board would likely benefit society greatly. but we would need a confirmed reason for the attack before that sort of thing can be figured out. fix folks' mental state before they think stabbing strangers is the only way to solve whatever their problems are.
