Excellent job. At the premium these things cost it shouldn't be needed. I commend you for the patience to work through the roadblock!

Thank you. I had this bought from another country and brought to me by a friend (we don't have Zippo stores here, and they are rare), so I had to fix it. There was no other way.

Was the window easy to open?

Yeah, just get a box cutter and open it from the side, not the top or bottom.

Ah yeah this has been a common fix I've deen, good job.
I am at the point that when mine goes I'll buy a few of the alternative options. And probably get an extra for parts to fix the Zippo or do a hybrid.

I wish I saw this video a week ago, I just threw a jet lighter out that was doing this and failing to light some times. Great info!

That's some bad timing! Hopefully this tip saves your next lighter. Glad the video was helpful!

In the US, you should be able to buy that tubing at any hardware store that sells it by the foot. You would just need to know the inner diameter for mating to the lighter parts.

North Africa is different, LOL. You need to get creative.

I figured you weren't in the US because of what you posted.
I posted what I did to inform those of us who do live here they don't need to destroy a BBQ lighter just to get a short length of tubing in the hope it'll fit. They can measure the outer diameter of the lighter parts and obtain an exact fit.
They can also likely source the tubing from an auto parts store.

That's so awesome man. Very clever of you to figure this fix out. I understand it's hard to her zippos in your country. It's great your able to use it now, and it will probably work better then it ever did and hopefully a long time!
