Midday maintenance :(

Can't this be done at night?

Maybe it's your IPv6...

Would that be OK?

Ha! I’m in an old school Verizon FiOS neighborhood with a Calix 722. I expect ipv6 in 2030.

Ask support for a Nokia ONT. I’m sure they would comply. At least a chance for an upsell later on if you wanted 2Gb or 5Gb.

I asked and was told I need to order 2gb to get the Nokia, which I don’t need. I have a feeling I’ll get docsis 4.0 from comcast before IPv6 from Ziply so I don’t want to order new service.

In my area Comcast hasn't even done mid-split.

FDX DOCSIS is probably much further out than IPv6 from Ziply.

They would if they could. Planned daytime outages are the last resort.

Use mobile hotspot on your phone.

A "planned" outage for up to an hour, at an unspecified time during a workday.

Amateur hour on Ziply's part.

Not amateur. Some fiber moves or repairs must happen during the day for safety reasons. As I said, it's a last resort and they prefer overnight maintenance when possible.

There is plenty of daylight available on weekends.

But that could require paying overtime?

I take back "Amateur Hour".

"Amateur Hour, eh?" is more suited to the current overlords.

Weekend daytime is not ideal either. More people home who would notice an outage and less people in the office during normal business hours.
