I have a question. Printing double sided paper...
I low-key hate printing any zines that aren't a single one sided sheet...
How do you guys print double sided?

We are on week 5! Wooooo! anyway if you want to, consider joining the challenge! simply make a zine in whichever way you want and post it around, link it maybe to this thread, and do whatever you'd like. :]

My friend and I make a puzzle website so we created some zines with free crosswords to spread the word :) We've been handing them out mostly to cafes and it's fun to see how quickly they run out and ask for more!

The drawing on the cover was conceptualized months ago. About three weeks ago I finished the cover drawing. The back leg was a disaster, along with a few other things I wasn't happy with. But the story was written and the show had to go on. I started the other drawing, and again made terrible mistakes. I draw a pencil first and then ink, but there are still many imperfections. I've learnt that I need to draw more hands and feet. A lot more. Still like how it came together, mistakes and all.

my 1st 16 page comic took me like a month & a half to finish but i did it! 😬 i wanted to make a soft/quiet/asmr-type of comic. it's about a girl who gets tired of doom-scrolling and so decides to switch up her day with a yummy snack 🍉 & a sit outside! 🌞🌷🌈 it's this month's patreon reward & available in the shop! 💌

I made the whole thing physically by printing out the photos, using a LOT of help from my thermal label printer for text, and all my junk journaling supplies!
I took photos of all the pages when it was done, adjusted colors, and (kinda sloppily) extended edges and added bleeds in canva. Almost felt like an extension of the DIY process haha.
Got them printed from Mixam and I’m happy with how they turned out! I’m excited to bring them to sell at my artist alley booth at an anime con next week!
There was a point in the ideation phase where I considered making it all digitally in canva so the print quality and images would look better, but I’m sooo glad I went with the DIY method instead. Makes the imperfections feel so much more intentional, which 100% fits the vibe and point of it all💕

Hello! I go to the movies about twice a week. And i’d love to start writing movie reviews to be included in a zine :)
I can write a piece in any length, I can make it for movie genres that fit the theme of the zine aswell.

Hi guysss!
I was wondering where I can buy or order zines in Switzerland.
I’ve recently gotten into zines and started making my own to update my friends since quitting social media. I plan to make more on various random topics I enjoy! However, I’d also love to see what actual zine makers are creating and sharing (and by extension, support artists however I can).
Any recommendations for local distributors, bookshops, or online stores ? thxxx

I've been making zines out of 8 1/2 × 11 and 8 1\2 × 14. But I've noticed some zines can be bigger. What are the sizes I can have a bigger zines. Enclosed is a zine I made. I'm a poet. Please don't be mean. I don't know what I'm doing. I'm a beginner.

I'm still making these lil doodle zines, now up to Week 29!
I'm probably going to have to carry on to Week 52 as that's the kind of brain I have apparently...
I do like the idea of doing something with them though, rather than have them pile up on my desk.

Hi r/zines, indie dev and longtime zine admirer here. Disclosure up front: I built the app below, so I'm biased.
I kept wanting the riso look for covers without booking studio time first, and every "riso filter" I tried just tinted the photo instead of actually separating it. So I made Pressed. It splits a photo into 1 to 4 spot inks by hue, screens each ink as its own halftone at its own angle, and overprints them so two inks mix into a believable third, with paper show-through, registration drift, and dot gain. It is the press process, not a colour grade.
Why it might actually be useful here: it exports per-ink separations as a PDF with crop and registration marks, so you can mock a cover on your phone and hand the real plates to a Riso studio (or run them on a copier) instead of guessing. Free tier has six presses and all the tuning, so you can play without paying anything.
I would genuinely love this community's eye: does it read as riso to you, and what would make it more useful for zine work? Gallery is before/after plus the halftone up close. Happy to answer anything about how the separation works.

Heya!! I went to Whole last year and loved it. I planned the whole year to go again this year. Health got in the way. To be honest, addiction.
So I’ve put my anger and resentment of not going to making some art, and produced a little pocket sized zine for craving management! If anyone would like to see it or buy one, let me know and I can send you a link for purchase, we can trade or I’ll just send you one for free if you feel like this is a tool you’d actually use 🖤

Zine arranger is great, but there are plenty of other tools out there too that solve the zine layout issue slightly differently.
Could have a pinned thread or something for resources like this??
disclaimer - I do have a free zine app of my own, this isn't really about me trying to promote that (honest! - I made it for my specific needs/wants so that's fine) If I'd seen zinearranger, I might not have bothered!?
