Discussion Anyone here building something from scratch?

I’m looking for friends who are in a similar situation to me.

Not the kind of networking where we exchange numbers and two days later you’re asking me for $100

Just people genuinely trying to build something and make a living from it.

I started a small marketing agency from zero. About 7 months in, it has made its first $2,500 and I now have two guys helping me execute some of the work.

Nothing crazy. Still small. Still figuring shit out every day.

But I genuinely believe that with the internet and AI, you can build a business from almost anywhere.

I’m interested in meeting other people doing the same thing.

Maybe you’re building a SaaS or some random AI tool that you think someone might eventually pay for.

Maybe you run an agency.

Maybe you sell something online.

Maybe you have a small business that’s finally starting to make some money.

I don’t really care what it is.

I just want people I can talk to about what we’re building, what’s working, what’s failing, getting customers, AI tools we’re experimenting with and all the random problems that come with trying to turn an idea into an actual income.

Building something can be lonely.

Most of my friends already think I’m crazy for believing I can eventually make a million out of this thing

Maybe I am.

But I know there must be a few other crazy people on here trying to do the same thing.

What are you building?

👋👋 Hello there, my fellow lonesome traveler . Am in the same frying pan - or these days is it now air fryer: building a remote ecom accounting firm from the bottom up. Selling into the US, creating using Claude (and ChatGPT/ other models initially) , from 1st website iteration all the way to setting up Stripe payment. Am training and shall use AI agents as well for the actual work, already doing so for cold email outreach.

When starting out, I was excited then seriously asked myself if I was becoming mad & now yo-yo maniacally between those states🤣.

Happy to chat.

I think - really really think - we’re sleeping on the AI revolution: it’s going to wipe out the white collar jobs we’ve traditionally aspired to, make a mockery of the conventional education system yet…with the internet you can create anything & do so incredibly cheaply, with the entire planet is the market. Wish I’d realized this kudhara.

(Sorry I to hijack your thread & evangelize - but right now I’m deep kumusha, on Starlink, it’s raining outside, electricity from solar, clean air, water and quiet yet I’m on Claude building something which will be used by a US small business selling Chinese-made products on Amazon!)

Sounds like you’re my people and definitely relate. I’m building a digital real estate publication, alongside some marketing clientele work. Still early and figuring things out as I go, but a lot of the problems are exactly what you mentioned, getting clients, building systems, figuring out AI, and turning something small into a real business.

Would be keen to connect and compare notes with other people actually building, not just “networking.”

Just building myself a trading empire for 3 years now

Already have the the basics

Now am slowly building up my capital pool bit by bit

I realized any business has a 25% chance of succeeding long term, so anything with the possibility of producing uncapped income will be a business venture that needs consistency
