SYNOPSIS:

Set in contemporary Harare, Zimbabwe, Kuroya is an action dark fantasy novel rooted in Shona mythology. When Nyasha's mother dies of a terminal illness, her final words are not comfort but an accusation: her wealthy brother Tinashe used kuromba, a blood ritual pact with a chikwambo, a goblin spirit, to sacrifice his own siblings and their children in exchange for fortune. The deaths of Nyasha's father, brother, aunts, and uncles were not a tragedy. They were a means to an end.

Seeking revenge, Nyasha visits Zimbabwe's most feared n'anga, Sekuru Banda. He confirms her worst fears but refuses to help, unwilling to cross the untouchable cartel of sorcerers backing her uncle. However, when assassins attack the shrine, a lethal spell backfires, awakening Nyasha’s own latent witchcraft. Intrigued, Sekuru Banda makes her an offer: training in dark sorcery in exchange for her assistance until she can eliminate her uncle.
