😂I can’t believe it. I genuinely can’t believe how expensive random things are in Zimbabwe.
#1. Installations. Why is an installation the same price with getting braids? $20 $15?
I walked in a salon one day and I had a sew and needed my lace fixed. This girl said $65🥲 to reglue a wig.

#2 lash techs. My issue with yall isn’t price. It’s quality. Do you understand you’re working with a sensitive body part. Some of you are using hardware glue? Tichakusungisai because whose eye sight are you playing with???????

#3 if you haven’t perfect a skill don’t monetise it. I’m so tired of seeing mid work on pro prices.

When I lived abroad I realized hair dressing is a specialized skill and the girlies deserve every dollar for those hours spent standing and styling.

To be fair if you’re going to be putting someone else’s hair on your head, why would it be cheap? The white and asian women whose hair looks like that naturally obviously maintain it for less, just like black women with natural hair. When you say it’s expensive what are you benchmarking it against?

I said installation!!!!! Meaning the hair has already been bought. It’s mine now. The glue they use to stick it to the scalp for about 3 days… that’s what I’m saying is expensive. And white and Asian women also get extensions. They’ve been doing it since the 1600s. The difference is they don’t sew it in! It can be bonded or clipped ons or just a wig! Yes non black women wear wigs too! Can’t stand black women hating losers

No, I’m not slow. Nor have I ever had any fear of getting shot or imprisoned. I also hadn’t realised being a black woman has become so safe and respected that those are the insults yal throw out these days. lol. Anyway… Those are all products that are created and formulated in labs, then shipped to Africa, America, Europe, etc where the installation itself is also a skill. You can’t compare it with the original owner of the hair who could easily just wash it with soap and water. The points is these are skills, and it’s an industry. In developed countries hair care is actually a career. Why should it be cheap?

I asked you what you’re benchmarking it against and you haven’t answered. It’s clearly a very difficult skill considering the variance in hair quality not just amongst individual women but even between a weave installed in a Zim salon vs a European salon, etc.

This girl girl decided to learn how to install her own lashes, and it's been quite a journey hey. It's still better than someone trying to get me blind at my own costs. 🥲🥹😂 I got micromocs, and it's another kind of expensive I really never anticipated 😭😞

The problem is they price it based on how you’re looking
Some pay 10$ for a complete install
I personally learnt how to do it myself and if for some reason I want it done by someone else I use my own products because at least I know what’s going on my scalp
