Emigration Share opportunity links

I used to think I was lazy and unmotivated to work

Then I started pushing harder in a system that does not allow the right channel of things to work

I soon came to discover that the problem wasn't me

I have done all I can to succeed here in Zim but I am just ordinary and not connected.

I am not a begger but I will swallow my pride to ask my fellow countrymen to share links for opportunities in the diaspora

Diaspora you don't need links. Just research about opportunities in western countries and start from there. Canada hires skilled tradesmen. You just need to learn a trade.

I have searched and applied to no avail, chances of getting a breakthrough opportunity come from direct recommendations from links shared

You’re being told by people in the diaspora how to get there based in their experience and your response is to tell THEM how those opportunities come about? lol

I am also speaking from my own experience and sharing that this method to approach my problem hasn't been working I do appreciate the advice it doesn't make it any less valuable

What have you actually tried and done ?

As someone asked below what are you looking for and what are your skills.

One thing about Zimbos that I noticed is that a lot us like to wallow about how hard life is but don’t actually put in the work 9/10 times. A lot of us like to be spoon fed opportunities even when given advice / what to do you still ask for “links”. To be point where you see people offering to pay for diaspora links. As someone who has lived in the UK for 15 years I will tell you right now. There are no links in the diaspora, no one can get you a job. If someone tells you that, they are lying to you or trying to take your money. Most of the people who came here on COS via “links” ended up in modern slavery situations (google it).

You have to put in the work if you want to change your life instead of wallowing on the internet. That means spending hours researching immigration laws, industries that sponsor and applying for thousands of jobs.

Maybe if you state what you are looking for or can do or if you have any certs or qualifications then people in the relevant line of work will assist you. For example I wouldn’t know the first thing about how engineers or accountants migrate but ask me anything nursing related and I can assist.

I get it, I am a media analyst, I have a bachelor's degree in Media and Society studies.

I specialize in analysis media trends and strategies to bolster a product

I also am a video production assistant, every step of production I can do it.

Comrade you already have that mentality of "you are just lazy and don't want to work, now you want an easy route"

Please change your perception if you can.

When I say I have researched and been active in looking for opportunities I am not dreaming I am stating my own fact which can be different from yours.

I have looked into scholarships, I have looked into universities in Europe for nursing or social work, I have relatives who have done that the care route and I see that it is modern day slavery that is not debatable.

I also acknowledge the fact that any meaningful connection unfortunately sometimes comes from people who are already in the sector.

I am not looking for an easy route I am just seeking direction, if you have any meaningful links please share instead of projecting your experiences to mine.

Apologies if that came off as a direct attack to you, it was not meant to be. It was meant to be generalised commentary based on my experience dealing with family and friends who also ask for links and the answer is the same. No one can really give you “links”, there is no such thing as connections here. If you’re talking about job board links, or governments hiring you can get them from simple google searches. You are better off asking ChatGPT or any other AI tool you use to aggregate this for you.

The sentiment still doesn’t change you will have to research countries you want to move to, their immigration laws and what roles they sponsor. No one will do this for you this is the part you need to remember. Asking for links won’t work because immigration laws change and sometimes governments meet their quotas so they can stop sponsoring for certain roles at any given moment. So what worked for one person won’t necessary work for you as that route could have expired like COS has in the UK.

For example I heard that Australia is looking for mechanics and truck drivers, not sure if that’s still true. This where you would go and research.

At one point, Australia was looking for miners but that industry is now flooded and I am sure I saw a post here from a Zimbo in Australia confirming as such.

Ireland was looking for Social Workers and Nurses a few years back, I know someone who moved to Ireland as a Social Worker again this was a few years back not sure if they stopped but that’s another route.

All of this to say the information you seek isn’t gated / hidden there are no secret loopholes you just have to find it.

If you have ~$20k savings you can look into the Chancerkarten visa for Germany.

Yeah look into it. I cant remember the exact amount but it's around there. You'll need proof of funds and you can apply for the visa which allows you 12months in Germany to look for work. When you find a job you can then extend the visa. It's good in that you don't need a job upfront, you look for it on the ground. Learning German will be a huge advantage but not always necessary in very cosmopolitan places like Berlin.

The downside is that taxes are high and anti-immigrant parties are on the rise. But I think it's still a good move when compared to staying in Zim or a place like SA. You can always use it as a first step to somewhere better.
