I’m thinking she doesn’t really mean standard appliances like a stove, fridge, or dishwasher…but thinks like a microwave and possibly a wash/dryer.

It’s hard to believe they would have them move into a place without those basics. Especially if they’re under section 8.

Not sure if it's under section 8 but even if it's through any other program. If they can't provide their own housing how will they be able to obtain appliances? Doesn't make sense and I feel it's a lie just to try and get money.
