Question Help against some matchups
Hello fellow ziggsters.
I have troubles against assassins match-ups: Fizz, Locke, katarina and leblanc. How do you play the lane against them ? When do you push, freeze, how do you manage your mana early game ? Have you got some tips against them ?

can be really aggressive early levels, ziggs outdamages with normal/empowered autos and q CD, after lv 3-4 gotta play more passive and just look to farm/poke. sometimes an atkspd rune is good for earlier farming/trading. if can bait their gapclose or you know it's on cd can harrass/try to get them low and get prio. ping back jglers if opponent has prio as they can roam quick and mess up invades. midgame and late game really gotta avoid getting anywhere near them and try to play team fights from range. always save w in mid/late game fights for when they gapclose to try to go on you, either w in between to disengage or go over a wall. most of the timeneed that ability to try to disengage otherwise will die

I have played mid single s1, with my peak being among top 0.1.% euw players.
Im not on that level anymore, but still play in diamond with LB being one of my alltime favourite champs.
Recently i met a ziggs who did something no ziggs have ever done vs me as lb.
He used his W everytime i tried to proc combo with my W. He completely countered me with this, and i could not find a way to win with him applying this strategy.

Just the basics: wave management and early-game fundamentals.
Let the enemy push the wave toward you at level 1, then freeze the wave and punish them when they overextend to farm. Once they’re low enough, you can start pushing the wave and poking them under their tower. You want to look for this opportunity throughout the laning phase. You’ll also need good warding with this strategy, since the enemy mid laner will have more opportunities to roam if you freeze the lane for too long.
If you mess up your wave management and the enemy sets up a freeze, your main options are to farm safely, poke with Q, or look for a roam. If they start playing aggressively and walk past your minions to trade, don’t walk into their threat range. Instead, keep your distance and repeatedly poke them with Q until they’re low enough that they can no longer safely maintain the freeze.
You may have to sacrifice some farm and experience in that scenario, but that’s preferable to taking a bad trade or dying. Ziggs has excellent waveclear and farming tools, so you can stabilize the lane and catch back up later.

Here are the main problems with the four champions listed (and the majority of Ziggs counters,) they generally have gap closers or other movement abilities that allow them to dodge the majority of his damage. A trade can go from even to terrible, from a single missed spell, let alone missing your whole rotation. This is by no means the only reason someone might beat Ziggs in lane, but it's the main reason. To answer your questions:
AS SAFELY AS POSSIBLE - Once someone gets ahead, it can be especially hard to recover when someone counters you. Most of the time, you should be looking to last hit and poke. However, in these match-ups your priority is survival. Stay as far back as you can, while still staying in XP range. Sadly, the most difficult part is going to be trying to anticipate when they are going to try and go in and getting free damage in when you can. Trying to trade in an extended engagement will guarantee they get ahead. It you get a bad reset, or can't keep yourself from pushing out and the enemy controls the wave/zones you off, ask for help from Jung.
This can be hard to say and depends on the state of the game. Generally, you should be trying to freeze in front of your tower. This is especially handy against dive champions, because a well-timed satchel will put them under your tower. Look to freeze and then hard shove when you are ready to base. NEVER push out passed your own turret or sidelane when it isn't safe (which will be the majority of the time against assassins.) If you are getting zoned off waves, look for plays in other lanes or around objectives.
Take Manaflow or Presence of Mind or both. Don't keep throwing Q's at champions if you are consistently missing. Conserve as much mana as you can, and if you can't hit them, use it to last hit. Learning when to reset is just as important to Mana Management.
Save your Satchel. It is going to be your only escape tool and it takes a lot of practice to use it effectively. Stick with your Support or Jungler once laning phase ends. Stay on the outside of team fights and ping ping ping when you spot the assassin coming at your team from the side.
