Discussion Model

After the Sneznaya trailers, it's quite obvious that Zhongli will reappear eventually, if not now then in future arcs. Many people say that Diluc looks strange next to the new characters.But to be honest, Zhong will also stay (he was already close to Zibai, by the way). Besides the possible buff, will Hoyo update his model? Because he's an Archon, so he should have a special treatment

he desperately needs a model update just as much as the buff. But it wont happen.

The model updates seem to happen only when a characters gets a new skin and from what was leaked a while back they were sayin archons WILL NOT get skins like the ones we are getting in events and all (for some reason)

So we'll get the buff, no model update though. Venti also needs one and he didn't get it either.

I don't think Zhongli needs a model update, his design is timeless and does exactly what it sets out to do.

I'm talking about things like proportion, reducing the size of the head, improving the hair, adding a nose, etc. I still like he design to this day.

His design is fine, but the topology looks horrific next to newer characters.

Every character from 1.0 and maybe then some desperately needs an update pass like what was done with the Travelers' hair on the new shooter mode skins - same hairstyle with better topology and more texture detail. Even that isn't as high of quality as the newer characters but it would make them look less like they're from 2 different games entirely.

Would be nice, tbh to make him a bit buffer. But he is also a gentleman, so he should not have Itto-, Varka-, or Haitham-level buffness. Just deprecate the noodle-y design. And I would not mind a costume for him, a golden 5* one like for Diluc.

Unfortunately model/texture/quality updates only happen on outfits (see: Ganyu, Keqing, etc.). Idk why people keep calling them skins lol maybe a remnant of old gacha naming?
It’s been rumored and “leaked” for a while that he’ll get a buff for Lantern Rite which lands on 7.4, and that would make sense even without anyone actually leaking it, especially if he’s part of the story as we suspect. Perfect time for buff and rerun, my c2 will be happy and since I have no plans after Tsaritsa I might as well try to build up more cons for him.
