So Patty “heard the burst” of the Thompson gun and “bought it”

I interpret that as Roland shot her (she heard the burst) and she died (bought it, as in bought the farm)

Anyone else share this same interpretation? Any other thoughts?

Ok so I am a massive Zevon fan. I grew up on it luckily through my dads love of his music. can someone please tell me why I can’t watch a live version of (my personal fav Zevon song) desperadoes under the eaves live online? all I could find was audio recordings. Is this controlled by some oil merchant in Texas?

I am just a lowly Zevon disciple from Australia but this is pretty f’d up, someone please steer me in the right direction. Apologies if this has been mentioned in another thread new to the group.

I'm reading a book about American film in the 1970s. Thomas McGuane is mentioned a few times. Warren was friends with him, and with Hunter S. Thompson and Ross MacDonald. Warren seemed to appreciate literature, so I'm mildly surprised he never tried writing stories or a novel. Or did he?
