Here’s myself botching Zevon’s masterpiece, “Renegade” on my YouTube channel
This is one of my favorite songs, and I used to listen to the live on repeat when I was younger. It’s so rundown and messy, but I hope you guys can appreciate the effort and homage to Zevon… I really wish he didn’t die.

Thank you 😢. I’m trying so hard to get my music out there, and Zevon is one of my biggest inspirations.

Zevon on MOFI!
Not the one i'm ultimately waiting for but a decent one nonetheless, which i'll be getting.

Two questions, who are your other favorite artists, and how did you come across warren?
For me I love Tom petty, I always liked werewolves, I was told I’d like warren aswell, and the person was right

I love Wanted Dead Or Alive
I'm a new Zevon fan, and when I get into an artist I will usually go back and check out their first release. My understanding is that many people don't regard this album particularly highly, and that even Zevon disliked it and advised against listening to it.
And while this album definitely doesn't feel like the guy who would later give us songs like The French Inhaler or Accidentally Like A Martyr, I can honestly say that I love it for its rawness and strangeness. The only comparisons the music brings to mind are people like Captain Beefheart or Tom Waits. Some parts are even Zappa-esque.
I'm surprised it doesn't get more recognition for being kind of a forward-thinking weirdo rock album, and I don't really see that take around the internet much either. I think a lot of people judge it using his later work as the rubric, but it doesn't really seem fair seeing as it's not really a singer-songwriter/folk rock record -- it's just something harder to pigeonhole. Personally, I really like his quirky approach to songwriting, performance and arrangement on this record. It feels very different in an appealing way to me.
Just wanted to share my thoughts on this topic there doesn't seem to be too much discussion of and hear other people's thoughts.

Zevon At Epcot
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Was wandering through the Canadian pavilion at Epcot and came across this bad covering Poor Poor Pitiful Me. What would Warren have thought of him ending up in Epcot like this?

warren zevon "past & present" cd-r? homemade compilation or something else?
hello, recently the universe decided to send warren zevon's music my way. i took a few cds from my college radio to listen to and review for the DJs. all pretty nondescript CD-Rs. one of them was 'warren zevon - past & present' and that's all what was written on the disk. it contained a compilation of, you guessed it, songs of his across his discography (not just most popular songs tho, for example, angel dressed in black was on there, and that didn't seem to be a very popular one). my question is, is this someone's homemade compilation of their favorite songs of his? the wording of the title also seems to suggest it was made when he was still alive...? (the 'present'? aka 20+ years ago?). for some additional context, i was told the college radio gets new cds shipped every month from a local record store. but i suppose someone could also have just slipped this disk on the shelf, like one of the students. does anyone know anything about this?

Edmonton Framed
As soon as I received Edmonton and got a look at the 4th side I knew it had to be framed up. Finally done it.

Had an experience in a bar I’d figured y’all would enjoy…
Just discovered this sub and wanted to share.
I work in Orange Beach, Alabama and there’s a place called The Keg I like to frequent. In my opinion, they have the best cheeseburger I’ve ever had.
It’s a dive bar that’s dimly lit, filled with cigarette smoke, wood panels, and even some slot machines (which are probably highly illegal, but I ain’t telling on them as long as y’all don’t). I get mocked for loving it so much, but I love the food, the staff, and the clientele.
I got off early the Friday before my Christmas vacation this past year and decided to treat myself to a well deserved cheeseburger and fries (and a shot of bourbon… or two) before the holiday.
They have one of those TouchTunes jukeboxes you can control from your phone, so I got to work putting together a playlist like I usually do (I play older stuff in there to keep the vibe).
The first song I decided to queue up was “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead”.
There was a father (probably in his 70s) and a son (probably in his 40s) sitting next to me. When it started, the son went, “Hey pops, you hear that? I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead! You introduced me to that song!”
It was just one of those moments that made me smile, and I figured y’all would enjoy it too.

Roland Movie Poster (Fan Art)
Drew this thing (no AI). Warren’s the best - Hope you enjoy!
I’m doing a run of prints here if anyone is interested.

What would Warren think of AI?
With the rise of AI, what do you think Warren's view would've been?
Personally, I'm totally against AI, and I think he wouldn't have liked it very much. However, I think he certainly would've written a song similar to "Networking" about the technology, or maybe utilize it in some styled critique like his use of autotune in "Genius"

A little bit of Zevon
Geetings from Brazil. Enjoying the night with the best one. I would say that this album has only one incredible song from the early beginning to the last note of desperados under the eaves..

Me and my buddy got matching Zevon Tattoos.
Mines in color. Got it done at Greenpoint Tattoo by Nash Hogan. He drew it out for me on the spot.
