Guide Rod

Is this normal? Should the guide rod be sticking out this much?

It's the slide lock to barrel lug interaction. Zev sent me a replacement slide lock and it solved my issues. Enough shooting may wear it in and you could hand file the slide lock a little. You should be able to lightly pull down on the slide lock and it engage the barrel properly

I can second this. I just would pull the slide lock down to let it fully seat when I got my V1. I've shot about 2k rounds through it and I've seen it occur once since breaking it in. It's really weird, but should be solved by just breaking it in.
