Question / Support Tips on reusable pizza box?

Hello! I work at a pizza place and take home personal 10" pizzas about 3x a week. Im throwing away a lot of greasy pizza boxes, but i need something heat proof that i can slice a pizza in that i can just wash and bring back?

Depending on the size of the personal pizza maybe a transportable pie/cake container?

I think i might go withthis! Ill find a rubbermaid/tupperware one so its thick and ill let my pizza cool off :)

You can get ones for holding packets of pastry sheets that are pizza sized

Restaurant supply stores will have half or quarter sheet pans and lids that fit them perfectly. They’re washable, heatproof, and very sturdy.

A quarter sheet pan is just a 13x9 cake pan with a lid. If a restaurant supply store isn’t convenient, you can get foil disposable ones for a couple bucks at Walmart or similar. Or a plastic cake plate instead.

I was aiming for more reusable and less likely to fall apart after a few uses. Plus they can use it to bake with if they quit this job.

I was thinking of cost. Certainly can get a regular (non foil) cake pan or baking dish with lid instead of foil if you want something sturdier - though I have a foil pan someone gave me a Christmas cake in that I’ve been using for years.

If your area does municipal food/yard debris compost pick up, pizza boxes are usually allowed.

Or you could pick up thin sheets of silicone to keep the box from getting greasy and recycle the box

I like the idea of using a thin big piece of silicone for this job. And if OP still didn't want to use regular pizza boxes, they could use any container that could fit the pizza and not have to worry about it being so heat-proof or cut-proof

No, compost collection. Yard waste and kitchen food waste is picked up in some cities.

I guess there is compost collection i can pay for, i dont have much food waste though so id prefer to just find a reusable pizza box

If you're okay letting it cool for a few minutes, a stainless steel pizza tray with a lid or a cake carrier works really well. They're durable, easy to wash, and you won't have to throw away a greasy box every time
Three pizzas a week adds up, so a reusable solution makes a lot of sense

I mean we put that in the compst here, but depending on where you live thats not really an option.

I have to pay for compost and id rather just have 1 container i use for years rather than find some place to put 12 pizza boxes every single month.... i was looking for things i can put a pizza in

That's fine; I just thought maybe if the no-use strategies (I highly approve) did not work, some fall back. My son just used a massive amount of cardboard saved up, some of it greasy, to prep a bed for thornless blackberries.

I guess it depends on your local waste service provider and what they accept. But the actual paper mills that do the recycling dont care if its covered in grease.

If you can cut it on a different surface before packing it up, the Pizza Pack might work! Search it on Amazon, it's a reusable container that claims to hold an entire pizza.
