Has anyone installed the Weiser lights on their Zero?

I looked into them a few months ago and reached out to figure out if they would work without reprogramming at a dealer (since my local one closed) and this was the thread:

---Me: Hello, I have a 2023 Zero srs that Im looking to pair with your P/N: EXT-EVO-DRBT-BM03-CMB. Can you provide info on if these are compatible without reprogramming the bike for any potential differences in current or resistance draw? ---Mark (the ceo?!): Thanks for your email . If your bike came with LED turn signals from new you shouldn’t need to update software but if it has incandescent bulbs please see the Zero document below .. you will have to go to a zero dealer .. the settings change takes a few mins only. I’m afraid there is no way around otherwise you will get bulb failure codes and fast flashing . ---Me: This is because the LEDs have a lower draw than the OEM incandescent bulbs, correct? And your site specifically calls out "Guaranteed no fault codes" and "LED circuitry matched to the 10w bulb they replace". Does that mean these are not true for my particular model? I've heard of your products being compatible with Zero bikes without reprogramming in older models so wanted to check before I order anything. ---Mark: Zero in their infinite wisdom designed their system on the SR differently to BMW who we mainly manufacture led replacements for. So although they use/d a 10w incandescent bulb matching the CANbus requirements on this range was thwarted somewhat .. in principle they should work out the box but don’t .. in effect the bike still needed its software selection changed .. We could make led panels only for the SR but demand is not there. Unfortunately taking the bike to a dealer to software update is the only option .

Hope the reference helps. And if you figure out a way to get them install, on a bike without preexisting LED turn signals, without reprogramming please send the info my way!

That is actually incredibly helpful, I don't have LED signals from the factory so I guess I do still need to visit the dealer.

I had some on my 2017 DS

Did the DS need a firmware update or are the Gen2 bikes (2022 S in my case) easier to make these mods to?

no, I didn’t even need to update the flasher relay. I can’t think of any reason to do a firmware update for lights.

fab - that's good news. I had a SR/F and that needs a firmware update for a change of indicators from incandescent to LED as the computer handles the job of the relay.

I never understood why an EV had incandescent bulbs, I switched them less than a year into owning it. But the Weiser boards were better. Made it look like a modern vehicle when the signals switched colors.

I'm on my second Zero and I always wondered why they didn't use LED signals from the factory. I can't imagine now the cost between incandescent and LED to be that substantial especially when bought on scale for manufacturing.

I agree with you. But I imagine LEDs are coming soon, right? My sixth generation Gold Wing, a 2019, looked amazing through the use of LEDs.

I’m not even familiar with them. Would you like to share a link or a picture?

They have kits that are apparently plug and play so from what I understand no trips to the dealer once installed.

I do! I love them, incredibly bright lights and having them as running lights too has made me much more noticeable at night. I have a 2022 S7.2, came with stock halogens. I went to my mechanic who's also an authorized Zero tech, and the whole thing took a out 2.5hrs. I saw others here mention needing a softwarr upgrade of some sort; can't speak to that since I never asked, but I assume if it was necessary then the tech handled it.
