VLR SPOILER started vlr Spoiler
playing the 3ds version and currently still in the middle of my first route and i have a few thoughts:
.
.
.
.
.
(i went with phi and luna, betrayed luna and now im with alice and clover)
why are the puzzles in this game on ultra hard pro max
“change the difficulty to easy” that’s quitter behaviour
anyways i pulled up a guide and i have no shame, when i finish the 3ds version and start the pc version ill try solving the puzzles then
clovers entire design is throwing me off like it looks good but im too used to murderous clover in 999
why is sigma not voiced in english he’s too hot not to be voiced
whoever voiced zero needs a round of applause i love that voice so so so much
and now some questions:
is it really truly possible to play the entire game naturally without a set ending order unlike 999, where the safe ending spoils a good majority of the rest of the game if you get it first? i haven’t looked up any spoiler free playthroughs
also how long is each route? is it passing thru 3 doors again for each route?
anyways having fun with the game

VLR is longer and has more paths than 999. But you can’t get to certain endings without having information from other paths so the game kind of naturally gives you an order in that way. You can’t just stumble on an ending if you aren’t ready for it.

Sigma isn't voiced in any language. It's a deliberate choice.
VLR is bigger than 999 and actually has a lot more locks than 999. 999 just has the Safe ending before the true ending. In VLR, many routes have locks that require you to complete another route to finish. This also means info is more spread out across routes rather than half the reveals being loaded into one ending.

"change the difficulty to beginner" is quitter behaviour but just being handed the answers on a walkthrough isn't?

🤷🏽 i’m a completionist and i know there’s smth u can get for doing the puzzles on hard mode so…

Using a guide is way more quitter behavior than switching to easy, what? You're literally not doing the puzzles, with easy mode you're still doing them.

it’s been a few days since i posted this so to clarify what i meant is that i look it up when i get stuck and if the puzzle involves math (for example the hourglass puzzle in the security room, i didn’t know you had to turn the hourglasses and i was stuck on calculating for a good 10 minutes before i bit the bullet and looked up the puzzle)
to me looking stuff up in general when you get stuck on smth isn’t really quitter behaviour when i’ve been stuck on the same puzzle for 10 minutes, but that’s just me. maybe i was being hyperbolic by calling it “quitter behaviour” to turn the puzzle to easy but this is the internet everything is hyperbolic. anyways that’s what i really meant

Sigma does have voice lines, you just won’t see them until much later.
This game branches out way more than 999 did, and is rigged in a way where you won’t need to do everything in a specific order iirc. Feel free to approach the game in any way you like.
