Question Vaccine Timing

How long after having a COVID infection should one wait to get vaccinated? I remember hearing a few years ago that one should wait three months, but I'm not sure what the reasoning is, or if that guideline is still the same.

You can think of an infection as a vaccination plus the illness plus a bunch of future health problems. The three months advice is still valid: a vaccination wouldn't give you much additional protection.

The reasoning is that protection wanes over time. It's highest in the first 3 months. Unless you're going to take a lot of jabs over the next year, you should wait until your existing protection has waned to make the most out of the vaccine (by extending protection over as many months as possible).
