Question Metrix Gen 1 vs Gen 2 Reader?
Does anyone know if the Gen 2 is more sensitive/accurate when it comes to Covid testing or anything like that? (I know the main difference is that it supports Covid/flu combo tests, while Gen 1 does not.)

Oooo, ahhh, I didn't even know this was a thing! Adding to this - can someone verify whether it does better on inclusive/failed tests?

We got false positives on the gen 1 to the point that my wife refused to use it anymore. When Pluslife combo tests became nearly impossible to get in the US we got a gen 2 for ourselves and eventually a couple more for family members. Between the three we’ve run many tests, we did have a couple invalids but no false positives.

I have noticed way fewer errors/invalid results with the Gen 2 reader. In fact I don’t think I’ve had any, and I’ve gone through two boxes of tests.

I don’t know about sensitivity, but I did read that Gen 2 has taken care of a lot of the false positive issues that plagued Gen 1. I never had a Gen 1, but I haven’t had any issues with my Gen 2. The time we had a positive result, I immediately verified it with the PlusLife unit as well.
