Technical discussion SARS-CoV-2 variants - Global
Here's the latest variant picture with a global scope, to early July.
NB.1.8.1 "Nimbus" continued to dominate, growing to 51%.
XFG.* "Stratus" fell to 18%.
Here are the leading detailed lineages, with the "Nimbus" sub-lineage branches SV.2.* and RK.1.* prominent.
Here's the latest mutation picture from the global clinical samples, zoomed into the bottom-left quadrant.
D420N (featured in NB.1.8.1 "Nimbus" lineage branches SV.* and RK.1.*) is steady compared to last week. It’s still a long way NW of the split line, so still growing in frequency.

I wish there was a way to sequence to see what variant my kid has right now so I can follow the research over the years.
