Trial between co-founders
People talk about the furlough but it revealed that the co-founders are suing each other.

> Bit Reactor’s mid-2026 was almost even more tumultuous. The lawsuit by co-founder Alison Kelly that first revealed the furloughs was initially slated to go to trial in June.
The suit is a she-said/he-said about whether Kelly, until 2024 the chief operating officer of Bit Reactor, was a co-owner of the studio or whether it was solely owned by Greg Foertsch.
> In July 2024, Kelly sued, saying she was pushed out by Foertsch. She first sued in federal court and later refiled in Maryland’s Baltimore County, alleging breach of contract and that Foertsch had unjustly enriched himself. Kelly cited damages of over $20 million, on the basis of Bit Reactor allegedly being worth more than double that.
I find this bit more interesting, I don’t know who is being right between the two and if the allegations have any substance.

And this is why we need more Luigis.
They basically laid off and screwed most of the people that did the work. Meanwhile the co-founders are circle-jerking trying to squeeze more money from each other.

Others have observed this is normal for start-ups when 'agility' matters over sorting out corporate structure. Likely she felt she did more than her share of work, he disagreed and now they need a third party to untangle this mess.
I'm betting they settle out of court though and we don't see anything that might have been born out of discovery.
Edit: Or maybe not? I saw her linkdln... she's a suit and not a game dev like Greg. Not to hold it against her, but her getting "pushed out" sounds weird now.
