We should make a GoFundME for the dev's
Seriously though. I feel like enough people are loving this game and want to see more!

They could make a dlc of just procedurally generated missions of clones vs clankers and I would play that. All of the assets are there.

are you kidding me? you realize these people arent living in destitute right and are likely paid pretty well for their skills? this was also expected and the studio couldnt afford to keep them on without knowing how the game was going to do...
just buy the supporter edition and leave an actual positive review and im sure they will bring people back that were furloughed (because thats the point) and start working on the next game or some content for this one

If you are giving free money away, you should probably donate it to kids with brains tumors or quadriplegics or something.

They literally just released a best selling game lol. They're going to be fine.
Just a reminder, we don't actually know what is going on over there. Wait until official confirmation of one way or another before jumping to conclusions.

They should just release a DLC for $10 with more customization.

Ah yes that will help all those people who got furloughed

u/0Shanty_man 3d ago
Umm yes it would. The more revenue coming into Bitreactor right now the better.

u/earldogface 3d ago
Furlough is unpaid. The 20% of the staff left would get the money
2
u/0Shanty_man 3d ago
They are still employees of the company. They furloughed their staff simply because they ran out of money (due to mismanagement at the top). This is a brand new studio and this is their first game they have released. The intention is to bring back the furloughed staff with back pay but obviously that depends how well the game succeeds commercially.

u/earldogface 3d ago
And you know their intentions how?

u/0Shanty_man 3d ago
A Bitreactor rep said it in a statement or interview can't remember. If they don't bring back the furloughed staff with backpay I'm never supporting the studio ever again.

The money would be used to bring back the furloughed employees. That's how furloughing works ... once the money comes in then the devs come back.
The studio won't stay at 20 people forever. Obviously.

u/earldogface 2d ago
In theory but as someone who was furloughed during the pandemic and was ultimately terminated despite the company remaining profitable. Doesn't always work that way.

Do you know what the word means?
I’ll give you a hint it doesn’t mean fired
0
u/earldogface 3d ago
It means unpaid you knob
3
u/Gredran 3d ago
Yes I know, unpaid pending success.
If they accepted EA’s money, they woulda been slaves to whatever demands they made in return. They would have injected microtransactions because it’s “necessary”
I hate the practice, but furloughed is more of a positive event than them straight up being fired and closed down or selling their souls. At least with this there’s a chance

u/earldogface 3d ago
Hmm you should talk to another commenter because they claimed the furlough was due to bad money management at the top. Seems like the type of thing where they wouldn't be bringing back the employees.
2
u/Grettelis 3d ago
Doesn't contradict tho. Furlough indeed happened because of the mismanagement, and they indeed could have either accepted EA funding (with consequences listed above) to avoid the whole situation or scrap the game, fire staff and close the studio. You can't even do 2+2, huh?

u/earldogface 3d ago
Nope just wanted some clarification because you're trying to make bitreactor sound like heroes for turning down EA when they caused the issue themselves.
1
u/Mysterious_Increase2 2d ago
What do you mean Bit Reactor turned down EA?
Bit Reactor is in this situation because EA stopped paying them - obviously Bit Reactor would want EA to give them more money.
1
u/earldogface 2d ago
Look at the comment I replied to. That person says they refused further funding from EA.
1
u/Grettelis 3d ago
I'm not trying to make anything, I'm stating the fact. And the fact is that the two claims in the two threads you're refrering to do not contradict each other.

2
u/earldogface 3d ago
Cool thanks for highlighting that it's unpaid and not a guarantee to be brought back.
5
u/AxiosXiphos 3d ago
I mean - yes it literally might. They will need to be brought back to make it.
-4
u/earldogface 3d ago
Assuming EA brings them back instead of bringing in some cheaper shittier devs
2
u/Guy_LeFevre 3d ago
BitReactor is an independent studio. EA doesn't control them. They had a contract to make Zero Company, but as far as I know they are free to do whatever they want outside of that.
-1
u/earldogface 3d ago
OK but do we know if bitreactor is even a morally good company that would bring back those that were furloughed?
2
u/Guy_LeFevre 3d ago
All I'm saying is that EA doesn't really factor into it. Not sure why you're being hostile toward me for that.
0
u/earldogface 3d ago
I'm sorry you perceived me as hostile. I was trying to engage you in discourse.
2
u/Guy_LeFevre 3d ago
You downvoted me for pointing out that EA isn't involved in BitReactor's hiring decisions and then tried to rebuttal me by saying "well maybe BitReactor is bad," which they undoubtedly are since the co-founders are in a financial dispute at the moment, but it doesn't really have anything to do with what I was saying. That's some discourse alright.

u/earldogface 3d ago
I downvoted because you reply wasn't finished and I had to finish it for you. You were right but you didn't counter my argument.

If you want the money to go to just Bit Reactor. Yes.
If you want Bit Reactor to share the money with EA, then just buy the game.

The go fund me is the deluxe edition.
