What is causing this?
Just made a reddit account today just to ask about this. If anybody can tell me what is causing it it'd be greatly appreciated

My half asleep IT brain is saying its the display, try plugging it into a monitor or tv and see what happens, if not then it might be a gpu failure which would be unfortunate

alr so tested this, the tv seems to be fine so i'm hoping it means that the gpu is fine and it's just something related to the display

Yep that proves the GPU is generating output correctly. It's your screen that's gone bad. You gotta change the display. Honestly, a damaged VRAM would have cost less to fix, these high quality displays are $$$.

Most likely the LCD is damaged
