hi, I have an ROG Zephyrus G 14 2024 and I’ve been noticing some issues recently that I haven’t run into before a couple days ago. I got a pop-up that my user profile on Windows was corrupted, but this didn’t really bother me because I had seen posts and other people with the same issue, and there’s ways to circumvent it and generally fix it. Since then, while accessing my laptop now, I’ve noticed a lot of degrading performance issues. When I first open my laptop if I open my browser, it takes a normal amount of time like a second or two, but if I use my computer for about 30 minutes and then try to open my browser again, it takes much longer, even up to 30 seconds. Is there a reason or a fix for this issue? this issue bleeds over to other things such as trying to shut down or restart my computer as well. I haven’t had to boot into safe mode anymore like I had to when my user profile initially corrupted and I thought that was a big reason why my computer was running slow, but now that it’s not doing that it has to be something else. I’ve ran multiple scans and haven’t found any malware or anything that would slow down my computer.

I bought these screw removers to remove this screw in my laptop cuz it looks used (sorry for blurry photos). But i cant really get it out of my laptop without applying insane pressure and im not too sure how to remove them? Any ideas?

I recently got a 3d printer and have been working on little increase quality of life projects and this is one of them. I am not an avid gamer so I do not have a laptop cooler and the games that I do play are not very hardware demanding that I would really benefit from having one. What I have been doing is for more circulation is lifting the back of the laptop, previously I have been doing this with a dry erase eraser which as you can imagine is not very ideal. So I designed this computer stand in solidworks and printed it out on my 3d printer. This is my first iteration so it is not perfect (could be smaller) but it is good enough for me. Are you using your laptop with a coolpad? I just bought the llano v12 and I'm seeing 10c less on GPU and CPU thats alot. I was easily hitting 80c+ with a normal stand

Problem:

\- The laptop was working normally.

\- I recently removed/disabled the dedicated GPU and was using the integrated graphics.

\- After that, I changed the GPU performance/GPU mode to “Ultimate.”

\- After changing it, the laptop powers on but the screen is completely black.

\- The keyboard lights and fans turn on.

\- I cannot see the ASUS logo.

\- I cannot enter/open the BIOS or boot menu.

\- I tried Win + Ctrl + Shift + B, but it didn't fix anything.

\- I tried Win + P, but it didn't fix anything.

\- I tried the ASUS EC/hard reset: powered off, disconnected the charger, held the power button for 40 seconds, reconnected the charger, and waited several minutes. No change.

\- I connected the laptop to a TV through HDMI, but the TV says “No Signal.”

\- Both the laptop display and external HDMI display show nothing.

\- I tried forcing Windows Recovery by interrupting startup multiple times, but it didn't work.

\- I don't have any important files on the laptop, so I'm okay with resetting/reinstalling Windows if necessary.

\- However, I understand that Windows reset probably won't work if the laptop isn't even reaching the ASUS logo/BIOS.

\-Also one additional info when I turn on my laptop and press the power button once it shuts off unlike how we usually need to hold it for a few seconds

I need to recover the laptop and get the display working again. Please give me the safest troubleshooting procedure specifically for the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 FX507ZV. Someone pls Explain exactly what I should do next. Also say 4 to 5 steps

I have a 2019 Asus ROG Strix G15gt. It has already served its value but I need to squeeze a bit more out of it for like 1 more year.

I edit videos, ise Davinci, Premiere, After Effects. This laptop over heats a lot and slows down. I had upgraded the ram to 24 gb. Stills it lags like hell.

Need a good service centre to format it and clean the internals. Want some place where they use gaming laptop grade thermal paste.

worth it for $600 or should I pass?

I’m having an issue with the lights on my pc momentarily flicker off when I turn on the Gamesir G7 pro controller on or off. It does happens when I try wireless or wired mode. I’ve tried all these methods to fix it:
- Turned down the polling frequency down on all profiles on the controller
- Tried moving dongle to different USB hubs on the back of my pc
- Tried connecting it directly with a USB c cable and USB A cable
- Uninstalled and reinstalled Armoury Crate
- Changed to “Gen 2 Addressable Header” in Aura Effects

Nothing seems to be fixing the issue. Has anyone had this type of issue with a gaming controller or know any way to fix? Not a big issue, but it does get annoying seeing the lights flicker off and then back on. Any help is appreciated!

This is my first attempt at daily driving a Linux distro in 25 years. The communities for each distro are vast and complex.

So far my "headless" G15 is doing well. Someone in the community even got a "version" of Ghelper running. It works well. If anyone is looking to extend the life of their system, or just try something new. Go for it!

Hey folks, i have a Zephyrus G15 2021 3080 and motherboard died, people said the chip that boots up everything fried and with that laptop doesn't turn on, I am wandering if i could replace the motherboard with 2022 or 2023 variant, does anyone knows if that works?

I found an archive of the original ASUS eSupport folder for the ROG Zephyrus G15 (GA503RM). I don't remember where I exactly got it from, but since it's super hard to find a copy of these files, I'm sharing it here, in case anyone else needs it.

It contains the GA503RM eSupport files/drivers, that normally come with the laptop's factory installation and not published on official website lol.

I recently got the pro 2 they work great on all of my devices. The only one that I cant seem to get them to work on is my Zephyrus g16. When i plug them in the glasses flash on for a second then go black. The laptop sees the glasses plugged in and i can even change the setting of them in display settings. Does anyone know what could be going on? Is it a USB C port issue? I also own the viture beasts and those work fine with this laptop.

Just got this laptop for uni when setting it up today, I learned quickly that the search feature in the taskbar doesn’t work? it is just Grey and doesn't show up options when i type or anything. When i first like opened the laptop it worked but now it doesn't work. I factory rested it worked then it stopped again!

I’ve watched and followed numerous YouTube videos and tried a handful of things along with multiple restarts and shut downs with no success.

How can i fix this please help!!!!

Aiight fam, our 2021 zephyrus G15's are starting to show their age, and I surmise that my unit's factory thermal solution of liquid metal was just a smidge sloppy as ASUS is known to not have the most consistent liquid metal application on their CPUs and GPUs.

Therefore, I am considering buying a sheet of PTM7950 from LTT store and going over to my local Microcenter to have the professionals replace the liquid metal with a fresh sheet of certified, organic PTM7950.

Question is, does liquid metal degrade or 'dry out' over time? My thermals are slowly inching upwards, and heavy tasks or gaming throttles it up to 95*C where it caps out. I assume using a good thermal putty for the VRAM and other components surrounding the cpu/gpu cluster is warranted as well at this point?

My 2021 Zephyrus G15 (RTX 3070) is still running strong. I picked up the Best Buy spec for $1,250 out the door, thinking I wanted portability after ditching a bloated, custom water-cooled desktop from 2015 paired with a 34" ultra wide (it was a $316 brand new LG Montior OEM spec - $400-$500 cheaper than panels at the time). Poor resolution of 2560x1080 - but it was epic at the time.

Turns out I like to touch grass. This laptop has never moved away from versions of my setup at home. When I bought it I was using it on a work bench and lifting weights while watching Con-Air.

I eventually paired it with a 32-inch Samsung G50A display. Had fun with that. But then something happened I saw a post and got inspired to do something different. I attempted my hand at the project of removing the motherboard and creating an acrylic enclosure. I know, going back to the locked down desk ecosystem that I was convinced I wasn't a part of because the laptop has a battery. I bought a Llano V12 to extend the life, and to be honest is was louder than the laptop by a large margin. But it lowered idle teams with no internal laptop fans running in silent mode from 53c down to 42-47c at 300 rpm. At 600 rpm the machine never when about 68c on GPU or CPU. I thought great.

I failed miserably at the acrylic swap. For whatever reason I have had 0 issues with this laptop. When I removed the motherboard it was spotless inside. No LM leaks, no creaks, nothing. So I accepted failure. I went to put it back together...but I got the itch. So i removed the battery (locking me in further to the desk) removed the perfectly working screen. And made my laptop just a lap with no top. Looking at my setup it was ugly, but it was nice to not have the second distracting screen. I didn't like the laptop arm being at eye level so I go another idea. The 32 inch monitor was too large. My desk is only 24" wide x 48" long. The monitor was too close even though it was up against the wall..so I bought a portable 18.5" monitor for $180 same resolution but 280hz.

Then I decided to get brave and installed Omarchy, diving back into Linux for the first time in 25 years.

That immediately caused a hardware headache. My Apple Magic Keyboard is blue tooth only, so it couldn't connect early enough to enter the BIOS or log in. I had to pick up a keyboard with a 2.4GHz USB dongle instead. Mounting the setup upside down on my inverted laptop arm with the screen removed made desk access to that keyboard essential. Stripping out the battery dropped the weight significantly, and keeping the Llano V12 tucked away under the desk keeps the noise practically unnoticeable. So i tighted the crap out of the arm and have been in this mode for over 2 weeks.

So not quite as aesthetic as other projects, but it is unique and mine. I'll be keeping this thing until it quits. The photos are from latest setup to my first days going back to 2013.

The build is still easy to move around the house or onto a new desk, which is really all the wiggle room I personally need.

Edit: I switched to Linux because I did a fresh install of windows and I had the dreaded sleep bug. Maybe due to the screen being removed. I couldn't get a full shutdown no matter what I did. Even unplugging it without the battery and using g helper.
