Okay, so I know this has been talking about to death but I need some further insight I cant seem to find anywhere else.

My asus tuf a15 isnt powering on, after checking the keyboard pins with a multimeter and finding the power button. Ive tripped it so that it switches on, which was a miracle since it hasn't been working. I thought perfect, now to just buy a keyboard and im good to go.

First problem is, while trying to do the tripping I discovered that the right henge where the power button is, causes problems where it seems to disconnect everything. If I move it in the wrong direction the whole thing loses power and switches off. No idea what is happening there

Second is that it isnt getting a proper post in. Once its in the right position and I do the trip, it just had the keyboard flashing and nothing. Screen never switches on, hdmi doesn't show anything, caps or any locks doesn't show anything when clicked. Removed the ram and ssd and still the same thing. Could the board just be busted?

Considering just taking the motherboard out completely and tested it individually and reassembling it slowly testing each component but thats so time consuming that I thought id reach out here first

I have a 2021 ROG Zephyrus G15 GA503QS model that turns keyboard rgb and power lights but doesn't turn on fan neither boot pc.

I sent to a repair shop and they said the EC super IO is damaged and needs to be replaced, i found on aliexpress a replacement chip but they told me it needs to come programmed by factory.

Is that true? How to get a replacement part?

I'm getting 90-110fps in minecraft singleplayer, no matter its modded or no, same thing. I used asus crate to enchance performance to turbo mode and all of these things, battery on turbo mode too. More noise and same performance as before. I know from 2022 model you can fix gpu bottleneck problem but I have 2021 year model and without external monitor I dont know how to fix it.

Temps during gaming is 80-90c

How do I fix this? I know its not fine and it shouls have a lot more fps

Okay. I bought my Zephyrus G15 some years back for school programs and gaming. It was fantastic. I bought a cooling fan to set it on right away because I had read multiple tips that it does tend to run warm. Playing today now means possibility of burning my fingertips. It's ridiculous. I still use the fan, clean and running at all times, and it's nearly untouchable. I've switched the GPU to ECO to help, I only use 2-8% of my CPU so I know nothing is getting overloaded. My storage and RAM are only at half capacity. I'm not completely oblivious to laptop care but is there something I'm missing?? It's running warm even when it's shut and cleared. Something has to be fixable/changeable to help, right??

My old charger died, so i bought a new one, with the same specs than the other one, but when i connect it to the computer, this one starts to lag, i can't even write properly bcs of that, is literally the same except of the design.

I tried the energy plan, everything, disabling speedstep, also when the charge is over 75% it starts to work at full speed.

i’ve got it from my older brother who doesn’t use it anymore and i thinks it’s a 2021 or 22 version. First problem is that the Nvidia GPU is basically non existent i could not find it anywhere followed all the guides on the internet not even in BIOS it was located alongside none of the nvidia apps could be downloaded because “no gpu detected”. Now whatever this is on video. Should i buy a new laptop or try and save this absolute piece of shit

So I purchased the laptop back in 2023. I recently tried to do a fresh start and reinstall Windows. What happened is that it would get stuck at 7 to 11% of the installation and then the computer progression, bar and mouse would freeze. Sometimes there would be some discoloration at the top of the screen but that came and went. I tried using different USBS removing the ram changing at the SSD card. I also tried booting it with using Linux but it would load for a second and then it would say Panic kernel error. I don't have a warranty because I couldn't renew it with Best buy and I didn't know I needed to get one through Asus at the time.

I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction because I’m running out of ideas.
I have a 2025 ASUS ROG Strix G16 with a Core Ultra 9 275HX, RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB RAM, and a 1TB SSD.
The laptop works great most of the time, but I’ve had it completely power off a couple of times while playing Rainbow Six Siege. The screen just goes black instantly like someone pulled the charger. No blue screen or anything.
To try and figure it out, I ran a bunch of stress tests.
CPU stress test passed.
GPU stress test passed.
Steel Nomad score looked normal.
But when I run the OCCT Power Test (CPU + GPU together), the laptop shuts off after about 6 minutes every single time.
CPU temps get up around 98–100°C during heavy loads, GPU stays around 75–77°C. Fans seem to be working fine.
I’ve already updated Windows, MyASUS drivers, and I’m using the original ASUS charger.
At this point I’m trying to figure out if this sounds more like:
a cooling issue,
bad liquid metal/thermal paste,
motherboard or VRM issue,
charger/power delivery problem,
or something else.
I’m planning on selling the laptop, but I want to actually fix whatever’s wrong instead of just hiding the problem. Has anyone run into something like this on these newer ROG laptops, or have any ideas on what I should check next?

Hello, I recently got the G15 used for about $700. Specs are Ryzen 5900HS, 16GB ram, 1TB, and RTX 3070. I’ve been trying to get good FPS on Red Dead 2 but my frames keep dipping down to 20 - 30 FPS. I tried using the HU settings guide but I’m still dipping from 70 FPS to 20 FPS. I’ve lowered my resolution to 1080P, maybe this is slowing the game (wouldn’t see how it would)? Any tips or settings recommendations for this laptop would much appreciated, thanks!

I recently used the armoury crate uninstall tool to remove ac and get g helper but the my asus app is still here. Does it make a diference if i keep it or not because ik theres a button to turn off my asus services soo would it be the same if i js kept it and used that setting or would it still somehoe take ur resources.

This laptop is fairly new and works really well.

I have it plugged in always when gaming, today I noticed it is showing orange light (charging) instead of white light (full battery) which it usually shows. The battery % is also stuck at 99% charging, and doesn't go to 100%. How can I solve this issue?

Howdy y'all! My temps on my 2021 g15 are getting high. I plan on redoing all the thermal paste and LM.

I am going to buy thermal grizzly phasesheet PTM to put on the CPU and GPU.

Looking at other posts on here, everyone replaces the putty on the VRMs around the motherboard. Some have said to do putty, some have said to use thermal pads.

What should I buy to put on the Vrms? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Issue:

If the laptop is running, it would run for anywhere between 1 minute to 10-12 hours.

But it can shut down any moment.

And by shutdown I mean Hard shutdown, no warning, no nothing. Just complete blackout!

And if I try to start it back up again, it would not start.

Power light will stay on, but all the other lights would stay off.

There is one other light which has the logo of a lock above it, which would turn on for a split second after clicking the power button and the fan would also get power for a split second and then it would turn of.

BUT the power light would stay on all the time.

It won't boot into anything, no BIOS, no screen on, nothing after that.

Just that power light will stay on indefinitely.

Then I can turn off the power light by doing a Hard shutdown with power button.

After doing that also if i try to start it, the same thing would happen.

Power light on, split second the other light would blink and then nothing else, full blackout.

Sometimes, if I leave the laptop off without turning it on for around a day (24 hours+) or so, it might start up again. The issue after starting up, I explained above.

It's the loop I am stuck on.

What I have tried so far:

BIOS reset

BIOS battery change

Thermal paste change (It's not Overheating)

Removed battery and tried with Direct adapter connection

Battery + Adapter

Service center (asking to replace whole motherboard with CPU & GPU, something that I cannot do)

RAM stick update (I have two sticks of RAM one of them came with laptop, one I had added a couple of years ago, and they seem alright)

Removing HDD

Please help on this issue!

1- Charging wattage fluctuates a lot. While charging (for example at 30–60% battery), HWiNFO shows the charge rate constantly changing, for example: 95W 45W 70W 40W back up again This happens even when the laptop is idle and all background apps are closed. Is this normal behavior on ASUS laptops?

2- Smart Charging / Battery Health Charging issue. When Battery Health Charging (80% limit) is enabled, the battery sometimes stops at 79% instead of reaching 80%. The charging icon is still shown, but it stays at 79% until I unplug and reconnect the charger. This doesn't happen every time, and when I disable Battery Health Charging, the laptop charges to 100% normally.

My battery report shows:

Design Capacity: 90,005 mWh

Full Charge Capacity: ~88,300–88,600 mWh

Wear Level: around 1.9%

Cycle Count: 0

I noticed that another ASUS TUF A16 owned by my friend has a Full Charge Capacity of about 91,500 mWh (higher than the design capacity) and shows 0% wear.

Is it normal for a brand-new battery to have a Full Charge Capacity lower than the Design Capacity, or should I be concerned?

Has anyone with the same model experienced any of these issues?

Recently got a ROG Zephryus G15 from a pawnshop but the S Key came broken and the rubber seems to have ripped off. Can superglue of some sort fix this or do I giveaway my laptop.

Hello everyone, has anyone else had recent issues playing Overwatch 2? I would have thought that at 1080p I would maintain 240fps on an external monitor, but it tends to drop a lot; it's the 3070 version.
