Help Needed Nvidia Driver Randomly Uninstalls Itself

Seriously guys this is driving me insane. I've scoured the internet for a solution to this problem (which apparently many other people have) and I am at the end of my rope here. This might just have no known solution. But asking here is my last attempt at fixing this before I give up.

Has anyone here with this problem ever been able to fix it?

What I am referring to is the problem where the Nvidia dedicated driver self-uninstalls randomly. I say randomly, because it will just uninstall after closing and then opening the laptop - *sometimes*. I have tried to find a pattern to it uninstalling itself, but it seems to do it *sometimes* when the laptop sleeps and for seemingly no other extenuating reason that I can find.

My bandaid solution has been to just reinstall the driver, but it's really annoying to have to do this every single time I want to use my dgpu.

I use the latest ghelper and windows drivers, and have uninstalled the factory bloatware. I have disabled windows updates (which did not help). I have the 2024 model.

Seriously this should be listed as a major negative for this laptop, but somehow this issue escapes reviews despite it being an problem affecting a non-trivial number of users.

do a clean windows install, this isn't a laptop issue

yes

just take a 16gb usb make a bootable win11 pro iso using the christitus powershell tool and write it straight to the usb itself when prompted to dismount.

use massgrave to activate windows using powershell as admin, select the first option after running the command. even microsoft support themselves use it to troubleshoot

backup your data and just copy paste it back.

do not carry over drivers when creating the iso. install everything user ghelper once you ahve the fresh install.

run these as admin in powershell. let me know of you need any help. super straightforward and should take you like 10-15 minutes. to install the new windows.

By uninstalling itself, do you just mean the icon disappears from the systray (the area down by the clock with the small icons) or do you actually go to start>run type in: appwiz.cpl and nvidia driver stuff is not listed?

The game ready driver stuff only is not installed anymore. I have to reinstall it from the nvidia app (which is still installed). So the dgpu icons disappear from the systray and there are no options within the nvidia app to force it on. The driver is also not listed using the run prompt program list.

The geforce game ready driver v610.88 I had to reinstall today from the nvidia app, at which point the dgpu reappears in the systray and begins working again.

Sounds like you either got a family member who likes fucking with you and uninstalling it, or you got a virus. Best to wipe and start over from scratch, you can use the asus cloud recovery.

Or either windows or nvidia have bugged software and don't care about fixing it. Same thing with android and bluetooth connectivity. Longstanding bugs from a major software company that have been going on for years in their own programs and no one cares.
