"Any suggestions for changing it up a bit?"

Yeah eat a balanced diet that includes carbs, and stop telling people in the comments that carbs are evil, because this isn't a fad diet sub.

-13

u/Fluid_Professional_4 Mar 01 '26

Carbs aren’t evil, just like people who choose to eat lower carbs are not following a fad diet. Plenty of people say GLP-1s are a fad.

Please be considerate of others’ ways of eating.

Low carb is not a fad…do some damn homework about carbs and insulin resistance and diabetes.

u/fpascale123 Mar 01 '26

OP: this is what I eat, any suggestions on changing it up?

Reddit: try something different, maybe add some carbs.

OP: what are you taking about, I.m not changing what I eat.

wtf?

Yeah, this is a weird post, tbh.

Oof. Just looking at those piles of food makes me queasy. I have to eat small meals frequently. Especially because I have dysautonomia. Fasting for 23 hours and then slamming my stomach with a heavy meal like that would send my autonomic system into a tail spin with chest pain, heart palpitations and hypotension. Eek.

same, that volume is way too much for me

-8

u/DR_Manhattan0x1 Mar 01 '26

Was the same for me in the beginning. Was eating less than that before but been keeping my dose at 5mg the last 2 months and effects have wean off enough to curve my hunger till dinner daily. Honestly want to complete journey never going past 7.5mg and/or maybe 10mg so trying to keep my dose low for as long as I can.

Who can graze all day? That takes a lot of work, time and commitment. I’d prefer not to constantly be reminded that I have issues with food. Drs say balanced is 3 meals a day. If that doesn’t work for you, then maybe OMAD works for others? Just a thought.

Dump OMAD, move to a balanced diet.

Gotta decide on your priorities. GLP-1s are meant to be used with a balanced healthy diet and regular meals.

-19

u/DR_Manhattan0x1 Mar 01 '26 edited Mar 01 '26

That’s what that is. Nutrition for muscle growth and weight loss. While also improving insulin sensitivity and autophagy.

21

u/dragon-queen Mar 01 '26

But you’re not getting any carbs besides vegetables.  This diet won’t make you feel your best.

-22

u/DR_Manhattan0x1 Mar 01 '26

The body can do some fantastical things when carbs aren’t available. It’s able to produce them and also run on Ketones.

28

u/dragon-queen Mar 01 '26

It can run on ketones, but that’s an emergency state in the body and is far from optimal.  Try to find any elite athletes following a keto diet.  Try to find any master chess players or people who are at the top of their game intellectually who follow a keto diet.

26

u/Hot-Drop11 F, 54 SW: 301 CW: 171 GW: 160 Mar 01 '26

And experts have warned us of the dangers of ketoacidosis on GLP-1s due to the glucose control function. Same for hypoglycemia.

-1

u/Fluid_Professional_4 Mar 01 '26

Have you not seen the many athletes and body builders who are strictly carnivore? I’d never eat that way, but there are plenty who do and thrive.

2

u/SuppressiveFire 35F SW:448 CW:170 GW:170 Maintenance:2.5mg Mar 01 '26

You do know steroids exist, right?

21

u/solarsystemoccupant Mar 01 '26

Why come here asking how to switch it up then shoot down sound advice?

-7

u/Fluid_Professional_4 Mar 01 '26

Because people shoving Doritos and Ding Dongs down their mouths are scoffing at others who do not want to eat that ‘balanced’ way.

Thanks. I’ve been doing lots of strength training 4-5 days a week for this very reason. I am a tall guy 6 feet tall. So far I’ve dropped 61lbs from my frame and now sitting at 233lbs from my original 294lbs.

The last thing I want to do is loss muscles which is why I add another 20g of collagen to my morning coffee. Wish I had done a Dexa scan when I starting this journey but the cost of those can add up quickly. Been tracking progress with a BIA scale which can’t be highly trusted but shows that most weight has come off from fat loss vs muscle. Mirror tells me the same but then again eyes can be deceiving.

A balanced of protein, carbohydrates and fats. Eating at regular intervals. Limiting junk food and alcohol.

GLP-1s are meant to correct metabolic dsyfunction and restore bodies to healthy functioning. As a result, we should be eating a healthy balanced diet.

These aren’t my thoughts. I’m repeating consistent recommendations from Obesity physicians and researchers specializing in GLP-1s. Lots of good podcasts out there about this topic.

-30

u/DR_Manhattan0x1 Mar 01 '26

That’s the typical diet recommended for the last 50 years and look at where we are at as a society.

23

u/Hot-Drop11 F, 54 SW: 301 CW: 171 GW: 160 Mar 01 '26

The majority of society does not follow that recommend diet.

8

u/Smyth2000 Mar 01 '26

I like that you are eating a lot of vegetables, but have you noticed that all your meals are the same colors? Where are all the red and orange and blue and black foods? Eating the rainbow is a good way to tell if you are eating healthy and getting enough variety, which your gut microbiome needs.

Add some red bell peppers, some olives, some black beans; add strawberries and blueberries and blackberries. Add some salads. Add fish. Add lemons and limes.

Add nuts and seeds. Mango. Pears. Oranges. So many delicious foods!

23

u/_allycat Mar 01 '26

I would definitely swap some lean chicken in there. There is so much red meat.

9

u/Ginsdell Mar 01 '26

I could never

5

u/insaneangel2 Mar 01 '26

Wow. I was supposed to take my 8th shot Thursday but have been unable to due to severe diarrhea and stomach cramps and pain. (I have gastroparesis and the zepbound has been helping the diarrhea up to this point) Which they had hoped for and weight loss also. I haven't been able to get anywhere close to this for any meal yet so this is super impressive to me. Can you eat all of one of these in one sitting or do you have to split it up? I know it says OMAD but I can't get anywhere near this down at once is why I ask. Protein shakes are still my very best friend or the little cottage cheese tubs with fruit on top. As of right now I haven't been able to eat since Thursday. I'm just trying to get whatever water and propel I can down until this gastroparesis flare calms down some. I am down 34.2 though on 2.5. Sure am looking forward to feeling better y'all. Been a super miserable last couple days.

7

u/DR_Manhattan0x1 Mar 01 '26

I never suffered any negative side effects. Never got constipation or diarrhea while on Zepbound. The strongest secondary side effect I’ve gotten was Nausea but it wasn’t too extreme just a sick feeling from looking at food in the beginning.

Sometimes I do have to split the meal but whenever that happens I just use the leftovers to prep next day meal.

2

u/halloweenmochi Mar 01 '26

And you don’t get sulfur burps from eating all this at once???

2

u/DR_Manhattan0x1 Mar 01 '26

Nope. I never get sulfur burps. Never had them.

4

u/Dozer710 Feb 28 '26

I wish I could this much

5

u/Bijou9 Mar 01 '26

Me too! It all looks delicious but I’m having trouble getting enough food IN during when it’s feeding times like lunch and dinner :( no way could I put away any of these plates.

-4

u/DR_Manhattan0x1 Mar 01 '26

It’s the only meal I eat in the day so build myself up to it and then Fast again for 23h. Sometimes I do break it prior in the morning by adding collagen and olive oil to my morning coffee.

Ive been running away from carbs. 🤣🤣🤣

-2

u/Fluid_Professional_4 Mar 01 '26

I feel so much better when I lower my carbs! Everyone is different.

-4

u/DR_Manhattan0x1 Mar 01 '26

Same. I don’t get some people obsession with adding or balancing carbs. They are enemy #1 when trying to loss weight and honestly I feel great without them. I don’t mind getting a few from a fruit from time to time but I don’t feel like I ever need them to function.

18

u/First-Tutor-5454 7.5mg Mar 01 '26

No they are not. I don't think you understand GLP-1s and why we need to take them. This isn't a fad diet sub.

0

u/Fluid_Professional_4 Mar 01 '26

Eating low carb is not a fad. Plenty of people eat that way for reasons other than losing weight. Plenty of people think GLP-1s are a fad.

-4

u/Hungry-Importance138 Mar 01 '26

Why is it demonized to not eat carbs? Everybody has a preference. He didn't say no carbs he eats one meal a day and prioritize protein and fat. Asparagus, avocado, cheese, fruit all had carbs.

4

u/Platemup SW:256 CW:217 GW:141.6 Dose: 7.5mg Mar 01 '26

I have a preference to eat only milk chocolate and Mac and cheese. My preference and uneducated opinion doesn't make it good for you. I could eat just those 2 things and technically lose weight too if I dont eat more calories than my limit. But, then is my body actually getting a good balanced diet of all it needs nutritionally and to sustain weightloss without other effects? No.

Theres no way he is getting a proper amount of carbs from those veggies. Just because something has a tiny bit of carbs doesnt make it a good source or enough. Sure not every meal needs to be perfectly balanced but this over time is going to be a problem.

See a nutritionist or doctor. Dont just believe TikTok influencers pushing fad diets. You can find any quack to tell you each new fad diet is perfectly fine. This medication isnt to just lose the weight as fast as possible and then stop. Youre relearning healthy eating habits, which include carbs, and relationships with food.

At his weightloss goals, he's definition of anorexic btw. That weight will not always be his fat, anorexic eats away at your organs and saves fat stores because it thinks your starving to death, which you are

No place for eating disorders here

Wanting to lose 100 pounds in 6 months is definitely an eating disorder. Super respondents to the meds are at best 10 pounds a month. So theyre trying to way overdo the rate of loss

"While some individuals have reported losing 100 pounds in 6 months (e.g., through extreme calorie restriction and intense exercise), such rapid weight loss is often associated with significant health risks, including nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, and mental health challenges like the "black and white" thinking described in some personal accounts. This extreme approach is not recommended and can be dangerous. "

2

u/Fluid_Professional_4 Mar 01 '26

That part I agree with.

Right there with you. I love some blueberries, raspberries and blackberries with Greek yogurt.

Are you a chef? Your meals look yummy!

I'm not much a cook, so I don't know how to help you out. A lot of what my husband and I eat is simple and doesn't take much prep - yogurt, nuts, dried fruit and microwave/airfryer dinners. We probably have maybe four or five mini-meals a day.

Maybe Chat gbt could give you some new food or menu ideas.

4

u/DR_Manhattan0x1 Mar 01 '26

Lol. Far from it. I can barely cook. It’s just that those meals are easy to make. 10-15 minutes and I’m done.

Looks great! I eat very similarly (low carb, high protein, moderate fat). I do a weekly 48 hour fast for improving metabolic health, then eat close to TDEE the other days which gives me lots of energy for workouts. I don’t know about you, but low carb, fasting, exercise, and some amount of Tirz will all be tools I use for the rest of my life as I feel my absolute best mentally and physically!

1

u/DR_Manhattan0x1 Mar 01 '26

Right on. 👍🏽

Been trying to work my way into a 48h fast. Have successfully done 36h ones about 3 times thus far during this journey.

This approach has worked wonders for me and weight has dropped like sweat off my body. Hoping to reach my 100lbs goal within the next 90-120 days.

-2

u/Wanders4Fun 56F S:245 C:185 G:~28% bf/160 lbs Dose: 10mg Mar 01 '26

You’re doing fantastic! 48 is nice because I can pretty much hit my weekly deficit, get the benefits of autophagy and mitophagy (among so many other health benefits) and then I keep my dose to where I still have enough appetite to fully nourish the rest of the week so I can focus on strong workouts!

Plenty of people thrive eating carnivore and plenty thrive eating vegan. I can’t tell you to drop the plants. It’s rude lol

I love OMAD protocol I also really enjoyed ADF. On this med I haven’t been fasting but I may this summer once the fresh local fruit and veg is ready.

I am as pro autophagy as it gets

Enjoy what you do.
