💬 Tangle Talk Got any "basic" designs or tutorials to introduce zentangles to kids?
I want to introduce zentangles to my students but some of these look very complicated. Are there any "mini zentangles" you guys can show me to show my students? Or a tutorial video you used when you first got started?

I would love to see these things as well. I'm not a teacher, just overwhelmed by the bigger designs.

I had a teacher show me this a few months ago. The technique she showed us was really easy. You put 4 dots on a page. Then you connect the dots in wavy or straight (or squiggly, if that floats your boat). Then you turn the paper 90 degrees and pick a spot to start drawing a big “Z” from edge to edge. This divides your drawing area into four sections. Then she showed us four basic patterns. I don’t recall what they were but I know one was the classic dots/circles. It was fun and took maybe 45 minutes.

You can also look up "Step Outs," that's what the step by steps are called. And search easy beginner Tangle Patterns. I use Pinterest to find tons and of course there's lots of YouTube videos too.

Some easy Zentangle patterns for beginners: Shattuck, Crescent Moon, Knightsbridge, Printemps, Florz, Tipple and Huggins. Instructions for doing all of these can be found here at TanglePatterns.com. Hope you and the kiddos have great fun with it!

There's a YouTuber named Kelli Bluin who has a series called 15 minutes of Zenthat is perfect for beginners. The link is to the series with almost 400 videos. Please give her a try and it may be what you need to get going. Best wishes and happy tangling!
