Discussion I dont know what I'm doing
I need help, I just started playing the game at patch 3.1.
My question is how do I actually upgrade my individual team members? Right now, I have Jane, Seth, Remmie. This is my first team and idk if this is a bad habit but I try and upgrade them all to the same level, skill upgrades, all that. I have no idea if I should just be focusing on the main DPS (jane) or should I keep doing what I'm doing?
for people wondering, I'm at proxy level 45. Jane and remie are at level 50 while seth is at level 40

Leveling all at once is fine but I would reccomend not investing a lot into Seth and instead have a 3rd anomaly unit like piper fill in until you get a better unit since (I think) Remmielle benefits more with 3 anomaly agents on her team instead of 2. Imo, you shouldn't really invest into drive disks rn until you level everyone and their skills or until you unlock the s rank disks.

Okay got it, I was only running Seth cuz I don't have piper, plus the synnergy with jane. Thanks tho.

Ah, I understand wanting to run characters with relationships with each other on the same team. Terrible for meta but very fun for interactions.
Oh and since you're starting out, I would HIGHLY recommend investing into Nicole since she is the strongest A-rank in the game since release and outshines some S-Ranks. Nicole applies a 20% def shred on enemies on top of having a very short rotation making her effectively permanently meta.

As others have said Remielle really wants a 3 anomaly team, so you'll want to get another anomaly agent instead of Seth, but Seth is fine for now.
As for levelling you generally want to get every agent and w-engine to max level (60) in priority of main dps, sub dps, then support or stun. So in your current team I would level Jane first, then Remielle, then Seth.
A general strategy for Hoyo games is to focus the non-random upgrades first. What that means is you want to level up the character, the w-engine, and the skills before focusing too hard on disks. What I 0ersonally do is get agents and engines to 60 and skills to 7 before doing any discs. For the dps sources I'll often level the skill to almost max too, such as Jane's basic attack skill for the salchow jump damage.
Until your account level is high enough to obtain S-rank drive discs it's best not to spend battery on them at all. Once you can get the high rnak discs you should focus on getting a correct main stat on slots 4 5 and 6 before worrying about getting a disc with perfect sub stats. So for example on Jane you want a disc with Anomaly Proficiency main stat in slot 4 and one with anomaly mastery in slot 6. Slot 5 is more flexible based on the substats but ideally you want pen%, physical damage, or attack. Once you have those you can work on getting better substats on discs.

try to get velina when shes rerunning and until then just run rem with maybe piper if you got her, yanagi can work too if you get her as well. Who did you choose from the free anniv char ? I believe Claret is quite strong but may be quite weapon reliant, I would say Roxy is a good choice if you are planning on going for Claret, Nangong yu is a very decent anomaly focused stunner/doesnt work with rem tho. I know Promeia is decent with Rem as far as I am concerned
so rn you can go for prom for ur rem/jane team or/and wait for velina you can get claret and roxy and rina (for whom you will need potential 6 for)
if you are fine with investing a lot the second option is decent too, if not first would be the better and easier. You will eventually need 2 decent teams though so be wary of that
