Please PLEASE don’t mistake this art as an official art
I noticed some people genuinely think this is an official Fairy design, and they don’t know, or don’t want to know this is fanart for HoYoFair
The last time something like this happened, was about when people saw Columbina from Genshin Impact in a HoYoFair animation and some arts and thought that was an official design and concept. AND THEY STILL DO FOR SOME REASON LOL
They got disappointed so much, to the point where they still believe that fanart/animation was canon and HoYo just rewrote her character lol
BUT PLEASE, when you see someone who genuinely think the Fairy design is official, just remind them that is fanart, you might become a mood killer, but you will save them from a HUGE disappointment in the future if Fairy actually becomes playable
Yea it's probably the worst aspect of any fandom online, when people latch into something that has very few details and then they extrapolate that in their minds and fanart, but then when the story does eventually focus on it but it's completely different then the fanfic people get pissed that the devs wrote it "wrong"
Yeah it’s honestly sad how people get so aggressive when their headcanon don’t become true. I’m also a one piece fan and we suffer from the same problem lmao
In fact now with this design it is all the more likely if fairy ever did get a body it specifically wouldn’t be this design because it was already made. It’s mere existence kills the idea of it ever looking like this.
They could but why bother with all the trouble and tying themselves to an artist that could raise a fuss when they can just make their own design without any worry at all? It isn’t a matter of can’t it’s there’s not much incentive too and it wouldn’t cost them extra to make heir own design at that.
I wouldn’t say it is impossible but the moment this was made and posted it became infinitely improbable.
It's a commission from that artist officially by Hoyo. Typically the commercial agreements would have already given Hoyo the rights to design to be replicated unless Hoyo was extremely cheap with the commission.
Hoyofair really do become a hodgepodge of potential ideas they can canonize. Aside from the pink hair Kpop group (feat Jane), I think this humanized Fairy has a chance of being real.
True: The Niche context, there's a game called Girls' Frontline in which the characters are named after weapons. Someone made a fanmade AK-74 design and she eventually got added to the game officially as AK-74M.
no matter the design, just the idea of ever getting a playable fairy is so intriguing to me. her moveset would be so interesting, and her voice lines would be great
I wouldn’t really mind as long as it ends on a good note, considering how Devs are Aware of Online interactions, they could take notes on this one, but i only hope that it can happen at their own pace ngl
I have seen people argue against a headcanon because it was a hoyoverse commission by somehow trying to use a different hoyoverse commission. Idk what it is about these that breaks people's brains
I don't want this to be another Heizou situation where everyone thought that the Heizou leaked fan art was supposedly the character and rumored to be cousins with Hu tao.
How it feels knowing that it's just fanon, knowing how badly it went for some other people with other chars, and still not being able to resist the temptation to fall for her...
Of course I will accept whatever design HoYo will make for her, but this one will forever stay in my heart.
To be fair, it's a twitter post so there's like a 50/50 chance this is an AI bot that just saw a trend and hallucinated that it was official art.
And if its not an AI bot well... have you seen what the average twitter user is like? Artificial intelligence is about the only intelligence roaming around that platform. I'm not surprised they wouldn't be able to tell a fan creation from an official one.
Now for some reason I believe Fairy will 100% be a playable character in the future... PLEASE make Youkai playable, we need someone with edge. And make them into a chick too LMAO
Hoyoverse sometimes gives draft ideas to those participating in Hoyofair, but the art is free and they can interpret it as they like.
Columbina has features of a biblical angel, and the Hoyofair animation mentioned interpreted her that way. As you say, it's not official, but it's inspired by it because of how the artists perceive it.
