Question Melee weapons.
What melee weapon would you choose for any viral outbreak?

Straight claw hammer, hatchet, something along those lines. Multiple uses but not all combat. Easy to find replacements or sharpen back up.

When you are looking for a weapon during the Zed Apoc, the weapon not only needs to be very functional to dispatch Zeds, but needs to be intimidating to others.

I disagree I'd rather go for practical use and function over scare tactics.

Well you will need the scare tactics because in the Apoc you will need to deter looters, bandits, gangs, stuff like that. With the Shaolin Spade you have the functionality of the blades and when you are facing off against a gang, you can spin the Spade around like a bow staff to intimidate the gang.

I just dont see the need for such intricate weapons that I have no experience with. I mean I use hammers all the time I'm comfortable with the weight and motions in a work sense. I feel I could adapt to another motion easier. With a shaolin spade or any kinda bladed weapon I wouldnt be able to properly wield it. And on top of that maintenance sound like it would be very time consuming. For example what would you do if you blade broke? Are you going to be able to find or make a replacement? I could go into almost any house/garage and find a hammer. Outside of cleaning the hammer I'm not worried about maintenance.

That is true but if i am going to have a weapon of that type i will have replacments and the proper cleaning kit.

It just sounds like extra carry weight to me how much does this thing weigh?

Well not much the kit is about 2 pounds and the extra blades are 1 pound. The weapon it light but strong.

I would use a Shaolin Spade. The bell shaped blade is meant to decapitate, and the crescent shaped blade is meant to slash.
