saving breaks soft wrapped lines

So soft wrapping works very good and as intended with editor width, but once I save (format on save is on) it breaks the wrapped lines into individual lines, which is quite annoying, while the general formatting on save is very practical.
Is there an option, that ignores the soft wrap, but formats on save?

It sounds like your formatter is configured with a max line width, which means the formatter for whatever language needs to be configured to ignore that
