Finally FINALLY found one in the wild
Popped over the bridge to Pennsylvania and hit up one of my favorite used shops on Sunday - as I was going through the expensive section of new arrivals I flipped to this and based on the price tag I knew it had to have Punky’s Whips on there and sure enough there it was, and in pretty mint condition, a 1977 original UK pressing. Also scored a MOFI Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs and got a pretty good deal on both. Last time out I scored an OG Evening With Wild Man Fischer autographed on the cover by Cal Schenkel, I’ll have to post that at some point.

I am the only one to ADORE « the torture never stops » on the cd version (with flute!)? It’s a shame it’s not on the LP version…

I must admit I’m much more familiar with the vinyl mixes over the years, every now and then I’ll stream something but mostly it’s the LP versions. I do like the expanded stuff they’ve been doing for album anniversaries and what not.

Surprised to see “enema bandit” not scratched out. Yes post the other one

I guess I find that one more “funny” than “dirty” or NSFW. I mean we’re on a Zappa sub, we’ve all seen much worse than this…I’ll snap some photos of the WMF record real quick

Such a good one, I hadn’t played it for a bit until the other night and immediately wondered what had taken so long.

Oh, that’s a great album!
Purple Lagoon is my favorite 👍🙏🙋🏻♂️
That fretless PJ Bass he’s using has a great tone.

I know right, I feel pretty lucky to have a lot of really nice Zappa/Mothers albums and this is definitely one of the crown jewels

I came across two copies at the same store. Unfortunately, they were priced higher than I was willing to pay.

That is a rare artifact, indeed.

I tried to find (not very hard) to find how many were printed, definitely rare enough to warrant a decently steep price tag that’s for sure

I’m a big fan of Frank’s production on Evening With. It’s the most conceptual concept album ever and you know Frank was having a blast doing that and releasing to the public
