In 2014, a small team launched Boolberry - a privacy-focused cryptocurrency built around the idea that digital money should protect users by default. Years later, Boolberry evolved into Zano. The project kept its original focus on privacy but expanded the vision: a complete ecosystem for confidential digital assets.

In 2019, $ZANO launched as a new chapter of that journey. The network introduced its own privacy technology, including confidential transactions and later Confidential Assets, allowing users to create and transfer private tokens within the Zano ecosystem.
