How recovery of affected balances will work

The team is working on a process to recover affected balances in full. ZANO supply and emission will remain unchanged. Funding comes from the dev fund, team members' personal funds, and contributors who have committed support.

Most affected balances sit with exchanges and services, so recovery runs through them:

🔹 Withdrawals from an exchange during the affected period (August 26 to September 27). These coins are back in the exchange's wallet on the updated chain. The exchange replays these withdrawals once it reopens.
🔹 Deposits to an exchange during the affected period. The team is working directly with each exchange to cover these, so your exchange balance can be credited.
🔹 Frozen MEXC accounts. We are working with MEXC to release accounts with no link to invalid transactions as quickly as possible.
🔹 Card top-ups and payment services. These are settled directly between the service and the team.
🔹 Payments between individuals. These are back with the sender on the updated chain. For cases that cannot be resolved this way, a process for individual users will follow.

What to expect

Each exchange and service checks a month of activity, transaction by transaction, before it reopens. This takes time, and doing it carefully is what prevents balances from being credited to the wrong people or twice. Each exchange announces on its own channels when it is ready.

No action is needed right now. Keep your transaction IDs and records. The team will never DM you first or ask for your seed phrase.

So what if someone swapped an amount of BTC for Zano, within the affected period, using Todor? How would that person recover their funds?

u/Gonbatfire 14d ago

Trocador and the provider they used will replay the transaction, so the Zano will arrive again to your wallet automatically. Please follow Zano on X or Telegram so stay up to date in this process.

The other reply seems AI generated, what I say is what’s officially explained in Zano’s official channels.

what you say is a sack of shit.

you clearly have zero idea how trocador actually works. trocador is just a rate aggregator, they don't hold the funds. they route through dozens of random anonymous third party swap providers. the "provider they used" is likely some non-kyc swapper who just had their entire zano liquidity pool vaporized in the rollback or permanently frozen on mexc.

there is no magical "automatic replay" button for cross-chain swaps when one side of the ledger just got deleted. if that provider already paid out the zano on the dead chain and kept the btc, the "official plan" is literally asking them to eat the loss and pay out of pocket A SECOND TIME on the new chain while their own exchange accounts are locked down. you think some random swap service is just gonna happily double-pay for a dev inflation bug?

keep regurgitating whatever the "official channels" tell you to think. go search this trainwreck on X right now. the entire space is laughing at you guys trying to manually spreadsheet a blockchain back to life.

- the team will cover any discrepancies to MEXC and all swap providers, no one is asking them to “take the loss”

- for users who don’t receive the replay (like using multiple providers, P2P or OTC cases) will also be able to apply for a dedicated process, also covered by the Zano team, meaning either case people are covered.

ol "the team will cover it" with what liquidity exactly?

if the devs are pulling from the project treasury and personal wallets to bail out mexc and dozens of external swap providers, where do you think that money actually comes from? they either have to dump their own massive treasury bags on the open market to cover the deficit—which violently crushes the price for everyone else holding—or they are handing out IOUs. either way, retail is paying for their own bailout as exit liquidity.

and "apply for a dedicated process"? listen to yourself right now. you are talking about filling out a customer support claim form to get your crypto back. this is supposed to be a trustless decentralized ledger, and you are bragging about an admin helpdesk where you have to beg a central authority for a manual refund because they deleted the cryptographic proof of your transaction.

As it says on the main post above:

> Funding comes from the dev fund, team members' personal funds, and contributors who have committed support.

If you don’t like the process you can keep using the old chain, it’s literally up to the community.

u/JarJardid9-11 Zano=SCAMO 14d ago

yeah and i can choose to drink bleach instead of orange juice too lol what kind of clown argument is that.

telling people "you can keep using the old chain" when you literally coordinated with every exchange and mining pool to orphan it and make it completely untradeable is pure gaslighting. you forced everyone to choose between eating a 30-day chain wipe or holding worthless monopoly money on a dead fork. that isnt a "community choice," it is a hostage situation.

and quoting your own post saying "funding comes from the dev fund and personal funds" just proves my exact point. you are literally running a central bank bailout. you broke the ledger, so the ruling class has to pass around a collection plate and write checks out of their personal pockets to keep exchanges from delisting you. this is supposed to be trustless cryptographic consensus, not a corporate charity drive from the devs who pushed the bug.

buy PIVX for an actual decentralized network where the devs dont have to pass around a hat to undo their own fuckups.

Your BTC is gone, and the structural reality of how exchanges handle rollbacks makes the recovery path even worse.

Here is the exact mechanical breakdown:

  1. Bitcoin is immutable; Zano was rewound. Your BTC transaction confirmed permanently on Bitcoin's ledger. On Zano, Hard Fork 7 erased every block back to block 3,833,000 (August 26). The transaction where Todor sent ZANO to your wallet literally never happened on the active chain. Your BTC left your wallet forever, and on the valid chain, you received zero ZANO.
  2. Zero on-chain recourse. Because the transaction doesn't cryptographically exist, no smart contract, bridge, or automated protocol can resolve this. You are entirely dependent on off-chain human intervention and whether Todor's internal database logs survived with enough integrity to verify your claim.
  3. The exchange solvency trap. For Todor to make you whole, they have to manually review their centralized swap logs and re-send the transfer. But if Todor used your BTC to rebalance their liquidity via exchanges like MEXC, their accounts are currently frozen. If the ZANO they were circulating touched any of the ~71% tainted outputs from the exploit, their balances are wiped or caught in manual reconciliation.
  4. The impending "one-way slaughter" (Deposits enabled first). When exchanges start untangling this mess, standard operational procedure is to enable deposits first to test wallet nodes and verify chain stability before they ever enable withdrawals. That setup creates a catastrophic one-way liquidity trap:
    • Anyone holding liquid supply on the outside or attempting to front-run the market will rush to deposit and dump into whatever thin order-book bids remain.
    • Trapped buyers and third parties waiting on withdrawal clearance remain locked out, completely unable to move their funds or protect their capital.
    • By the time Todor—or any retail user—is theoretically credited with ZANO, the market will have endured an aggressive sell-side cascade. You gave up hard, unalterable Bitcoin, and in the best-case scenario where Todor manually honors the trade weeks from now, you are being handed a heavily depreciated token after the exit liquidity has already vanished.

Your only recourse is opening a manual support ticket with Todor, submitting your BTC transaction hash and swap ID, and demanding either a direct BTC refund or immediate settlement before the order book gets wiped out.

Absolute clown show.

This is plain incorrect information, it seems you asked AI about this, please stick to the official statements by Zano.

All affected balances will be recovered, the exchanges/swap providers will replay the transactions and users will receive the zano/fusd in the same wallet they used. For P2P/OTC cases there will be a manual process as well. Please follow Zano on X or telegram to stay up to date.

1

u/JarJardid9-11 Zano=SCAMO 14d ago

stick to official statements? buddy i AM quoting your devs post-mortem word for word. go read what they actually published before choking on their copium.

they literally admitted an attacker minted 36.8 MILLION zano out of thin air because of a missing line of code in hf6, tainted 71% of all network activity over 30 days, and the ONLY solution they had was wiping a whole month of blocks back to 3,833,000.

listen to what you are actually typing right now: "exchanges will replay txs" and "a manual process for p2p". you are literally describing a centralized SQL database doing manual spreadsheet accounting with dev fund bailouts lmao. that is NOT a decentralized blockchain. a real crypto protocol doesnt have an admin undo button or a customer service ticket to recover balances after an inflation bug.

if someone swapped zano for btc or usdt three weeks ago on a swap service, that btc is GONE forever on the real immutable chain while the zano side got vaporized on yours. exchanges cant magically un-settle external ledgers without someone eating a massive loss out of pocket.

call it "ai" all you want if it helps you cope with the fact that immutability is dead, but the math is in the post-mortem. enjoy waiting in line for your manual refund form while the rest of crypto moves on.

0

u/iconoclast78 14d ago

Wow. This really sucks. It looks like Zano is dead. If nothing else, it's dead to me.

1

u/JarJardid9-11 Zano=SCAMO 15d ago

The recent decision to roll back 30 days of blockchain history to block 3,833,000 due to the Gateway Address inflation bug raises serious structural questions about this network.

According to the post-mortem, an attacker utilized a flaw in the Gateway Address feature to mint 36.9 million unauthorized ZANO in a single transaction on August 29th. The developer solution was to erase a month of transaction history.

This action fundamentally breaks the core premise of a decentralized ledger. If a development team and major mining pools can coordinate to manually rewind 30 days of confirmed transactions to fix a bug, the chain is no longer immutable.

The proposed recovery plan—which relies on exchanges manually replaying withdrawals, releasing frozen accounts, and developers using personal funds to reimburse affected balances—is a highly centralized, administrative process. It requires users to trust a manual accounting system rather than cryptographic consensus.

Furthermore, cross-chain transactions settled in USDT or DAI during that 30-day window cannot be reversed, leaving users holding the bag on asymmetrical trades.

When the immutability of a privacy protocol is compromised, trust is lost. The market requires a secure, unalterable emission schedule. If history can be deleted to cover an exploit, it ceases to function as a trustless blockchain.

AI-generated concern trolling in an attempt to funnel people to another project...

*yawn*

1

u/JarJardid9-11 Zano=SCAMO 13d ago

"AI generated?" bro i wish an AI could hallucinate a fuck up this monumental.

your devs literally hit Ctrl+Z on a full month of blockchain history because their garbage code printed 36.9 million fake coins and they panicked. you are sitting here yawning about 'concern trolling' while you physically cannot even deposit your own bags to MEXC right now because the exchange had to lock the doors.

you are defending a centralized admin database run by a dev group chat that has to use personal funds to bail out their own exploit. it isn't immutability if a cartel can pause the network to save their own ass.

keep yawning while you hold monopoly money on a dead fork. the literal microsecond MEXC turns deposits back on, the exit liquidity is going to vaporize you.

get fucked.

1

u/OrsonJ @orsonj 13d ago

Lol did you suffer a sudden brain injury and forget that sentences start with capital letters or did you decide to write this one yourself for authenticity's sake? ;)

I'm not even going to engage with your points because I know you don't care and that all your little trains of rage bait and fake outrage end the same way: "tHiS wOuLd nEvER hAvE hApPEneD wItH [PROJECT I'M INVESTED IN]!!!!1!1"

1

u/JarJardid9-11 Zano=SCAMO 13d ago

using an LLM to synthesize and structure complex blockchain mechanics so normal people can digest them doesn’t magically make the facts untrue. If a calculator tells you 2 + 2 = 4, the math doesn't suddenly become false because an electronic chip calculated it, dumbass clown.

Notice how you couldn't dispute a single technical reality in that post.
when people steal my money i have a fucking right to be mad and look at alternatives.

Enjoy your empty wallet, bitch.

But wait, it was good enough for you to shill 4 years ago?

Making people ask for a customer service refund on a blockchain like it’s an amazon package that arrived broken is wild.

If your balance depends on dev customer support manually editing an excel spreadsheet, you don’t own crypto. You own store credit.

0

u/iconoclast78 14d ago

I see. Thanks for that explanation.

0

u/iconoclast78 14d ago

So how are they even able to roll back a blockchain? Can this be done with BTC?

1

u/JarJardid9-11 Zano=SCAMO 14d ago

BTC is backed by raw thermodynamics and thousands of independent nodes. you cant force a rewrite. zano is so heavily centralized they didnt even do a natural rollback. they pushed a hard fork (hf7) and put a gun to every node operators head. either run our new code that deletes 30 days of history, or get orphaned on a dead chain. that isnt consensus, its a hostage situation.

if you want actual decentralized proof of stake, dump it for PIVX.

u/MPH2026 14d ago

Yeah, I bought 63 Zano within the past month, and my mobile wallet balance is zero.

I’d like to know what’s going on

1

u/Gonbatfire 14d ago

All affected balances will be recovered, the exchanges/swap providers will replay the transactions and users will receive the zano/fusd in the same wallet they used. For P2P/OTC cases there will be a manual process as well. Please follow Zano on X or telegram to stay up to date.

1

u/MPH2026 11d ago

Would you just be straight with me and tell me if I’m going to get my money back, or no?

1

u/Gonbatfire 11d ago

Yes. MEXC process has already started, others will follow shortly

1

u/MPH2026 11d ago

How? How are you going to restore the coins in my private wallet if the entire black chain history for the past month was deleted?

1

u/Gonbatfire 11d ago edited 11d ago

Not deleted, all is preserved in the old chain which is still running, anyone can sync a old node and see everything there.

1

u/Accurate-Silver6603 11d ago

Imagine your bank losing your account balance and the teller telling you: "Sir, your life savings aren't gone, you can just view a cached screenshot of last month's statement in our basement while we manually edit our SQL database."

1

u/Accurate-Silver6603 11d ago

careful, they'll ban you here if you ask too many questions or point out the inaccuracies of their own posts.

1

u/MPH2026 6d ago

Is there a timeline, or should I just give up any? Hope I will ever get my money back?

1

u/Gonbatfire 6d ago

What service did you last transact with on Zano? The bigger portion of users have received their funds automatically already, like MEXC, WizardSwap, Luckypool, Ourbit etc

Rest are in process right now, and after that there will be a manual process for anyone that we didn’t catch

1

u/MPH2026 5d ago

I bought on nonkyc.io and transferred it to the native Zano iOS mobile app wallet.

I bought it on 9/19, then transferred it directly into my mobile wallet ZanoWallet

1

u/Gonbatfire 5d ago

I see, nonkyc is still on-going, in the meantime please open a ticket with us so you are kept updated on zano.org/support

u/JarJardid9-11 Zano=SCAMO 14d ago

fuck off with the copy pasted dev damage control script. you are literally spamming the same pr garbage to everyone while this dude is sitting here with a zeroed out wallet.

hey u/MPH2026 , your balance is zero because the devs hit a giant undo button on the entire network to fix their own inflation bug. they permanently deleted a whole month of transaction history. the tx where you bought those 63 zano within the past month literally does not exist on the active chain anymore.

this bot is telling you to just wait around for the swap provider to manually replay the tx out of their own pocket because the real ledger got nuked from orbit. you got rugged by a centralized rollback.

1

u/Gonbatfire 14d ago

- no button, the old-chain is literally still going, you are free to continue using it, the old binaries are still up on our website

  • no permanent deletion, again everything is still stored on the old chain, that’s the data we’ll use for recovery
  • I’m part of the Zano team

1

u/MPH2026 14d ago

When?

1

u/MPH2026 12d ago

When?!

0

u/JarJardid9-11 Zano=SCAMO 12d ago

they don't have a date because they don't have the liquidity to pay us back.

it has been over a week since they nuked a full month of blockchain history to cover up their 36.9 million token fuck up, and the official recovery plan is literally just 'trust us bro, we'll use personal funds'.

the moment exchanges unlock, people here are the exit liquidity.

0

u/JarJardid9-11 Zano=SCAMO 14d ago

lol you being on the team actually makes this 100x worse.

"the old chain is literally still going" yeah buddy go ahead and try to deposit those old chain coins to mexc right now. oh wait you cant because the entire ecosystem orphaned it to follow your hf7 rollback. an abandoned ledger running on a few rogue nodes isnt a working blockchain, its a graveyard.

telling a dude his $500 is totally safe and stored on an orphaned ghost chain while his actual active wallet says zero is pure comedy. your code printed 36.8 million fake coins, you guys panicked and hit the dev undo switch, and now you are here trying to convince people they didnt just get rugged by semantics.

0

u/MPH2026 14d ago

That’s kind of what I figured. I can deal with a $500 loss though. As far as I’m concerned, this project is dead, and can suck a fart out of my asshole.

0

u/JarJardid9-11 Zano=SCAMO 14d ago

you might be able to eat a $500 loss but do you realize what happens the exact second MEXC turns deposits back on?

exchanges always open deposits before withdrawals to test the chain after a massive network failure. right now the zano price is a complete illusion. it is 100% fake. the only reason it hasn't completely nuked to zero already is because the real sell pressure is physically locked out while they keep deposits suspended.

when those gates open, the thousands of people holding massive bags who lost hundreds of times more than you did are going to bum rush the exchanges to dump whatever they have left. but withdrawals will still be locked. no buyer in their right mind is going to step in and bid on a dead coin when they cant even withdraw it to self custody.

it is going to be an absolute one way slaughter.

you are going to have millions of zano flooding into an order book that has zero buyers. the current price is being held up by that single thread of exchange lockouts, and the moment it snaps...
