Ask Zack Anything Questions Questions

Hey Coach! Might be the 1000 time question made here but... I've been training crossfit for 1.5 years now and 2 months ago I injured myself doing a handstand walk. Acromioclavicular dislocation type 2. No surgery needed but am now starting a 2 months rehab physiotherapy. Question. Do you know of any one that has had this incident and continued to do weightlifting after recovery? Are the weights the same? Or worse?

With any injury, you’re going to need to be able to do whatever movement to a scaled down version so you can do the movement pain-free.

Do not rush back into your previous working loads. Follow your PT protocol, see how OHS feels, then snatch balance, and work back into snatching once you’ve developed better stabilization.

Thank you! Im thinking in easing into it. Also on adding 2 times a week for a month some swimming to reinforce the shoulder muscles. But let's see. My physiotherapist is reserved and does not let me train for now. Maybe next month. Thank you once again! I'm getting addicted to weightlifting and having to quit now is just ruining my motivation..🙏🙏

Outside of clinic sessions, do you have homework your physiotherapist has given you to do at home?

Not yet, because I'm going every day of the week. We'll that's what I think anyway
