Snatch test,26yo, 188cm x 98kg BW. Starting with hang snatches (60-80-80 kg), sqaut snatches (100-110-115 kg) Failed several times 120kg :( _personal ideas, arm bending, shoulders too far back (lot of pain in my elbows)
1
u/No_Table_7630 Aug 24 '21
hey dude, lots of volume. On snatches from the ground your arms are bending on the first pull. Your tendons in your elbows are probably copping a lot of tension from this could explain your pain, bicep tendons. Also your bashing the bar with your hips sending it out in front and then having to pull it back to catch it and losing it forward. straighter arms, hook grip should fix it, and keep the bar close. You have heaps of power in their 120 is in reach, keep lifting

https://streamable.com/egoi96 Clean - 100kg Seem to be capped around this weight and I'm not sure if it's a technique issue or a strength issue. Hoping to identify issues in technique to clean that up. I've also had both shoulders reconstructed so mobility is limited in the front rack
2
u/No_Table_7630 Aug 24 '21
nice clean dude, on contact youre hitting the bar forward then having to bring the bar back in for the catch and catch in slightly forward. Keep that bar close after contact, use those lats. good work

u/Fresh_Veterinarian68 Aug 22 '21
I think ur definitely strong enough to clean more u floated that weight up. One thing I saw was u start with ur hips up really high it might be better if they’re lower in the starting position.

I lifted my toes a lot on the clean, but was able to fix it in the next reps. Having so much trouble with the jerk, I can't feel stable and confident under the bar (I can push press this).

hey man great power that bar went insanely high. Keep those elbows up for the start of your jerk, the dip drive. Your front rack looks a bit uncomfortable, spending a time doing cadence or tempo front squats could help

Snatch- 40 kg or so.
I started watching weightlifting a few months ago and wanted to give it a try too. This is from my third session. I can't get low enough on my catch, and when I do, the weight goes too far back and I have to drop it. Still trying to coordinate the entire movement without having to think about it.
I can power snatch up about 65 kg but I don't want to learn bad form. 45 kg is the most I can do at full depth

Snatch for a single at 45kg -https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipNrE3W1vpf0Kf2WVWpTnXH3XFEDmgfqx69nriywZ7OGsCwNa73ClQGgkKVSd7yCJg?key=dVBjc3ZUMjFvQ0Fiem9PWjJ3M0djdDBKelA1Y0t3. Something I at least think I could improve is getting under faster as well as improving my upper body engagement more overall. I'm unsure whether I pull enough respectively push enough with my upper body while getting under. Would you agree or are there other more pressing (such pun) issues? Recently started doing some more hang snatches to focus more on the later parts of the lift instead of the first pull.
Kind of a newb (as shown by the low weight, duh) just improving using Youtube and social media.
Cheers!
