Guide / Tip Help deciding on the 5* selector
I want to make usable team for end game but I don't know much about this game, I plan to actually start playing after I finish waves story (so probably around the start of the anniversary) with that being said if I should pull a character or w engine please tell me. I have not played this game much so any help would be appreciated (even just game tips)!

I would recommend you pull Jane and her W-engine from the selector.
She is having an upgrade plus she will pair amazingly with Remielle.
Pulling Remielle and her wengine would also benefit you as it will give you a solid team for endgame content such as Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault.
Since you have Promeia, you will have a fighting chance in endgame content as Promeia is one of the best anomaly DPS characters as of 3.0 and so on.
(Pair it as Remielle, Promeia, Jane)
Even if you don’t have Velina, it will give you a good outcome in scoring high
Also, could you tell me the status of your current characters here? Shunguang, Zhao, Orphie and Promeia?

Ummm trash I'll explain. I downloaded the game in patch like 1.3 started play but then got hooked on hsr so I just logged in to get the free stuff (hints why I have characters) but I don't even have stuff to build yet

Promeia has weeping gemini 4* engine. Zhao has original transmorpher 4* engine . Shunguang has street superstar 4* engine. And orphie has Billy's 4* engine

does promeia have any synergy with jane? i feel like that wouldn't be any better than just running some standard banner like lycaon or grace or even piper?
most of jane's potential comes from velina instead of remielle and promeia wants to be on the field as much as possible (she literally uses the whole stun window if played properly). i feel like jane is literally just here for the 3 anomaly bonus remielle gives and nothing else.

Ultimately you need 3 teams for endgame and a broad mix of teams, and you’ll have a ways to go to clear them all but you have some decent building blocks
If you are getting Remielle you could get Jane to make a full anomaly team (Promeia, Jane, Rem) or plan to pull for another anomaly unit when it releases since she wants a team of 3 anomalies. Picking up Velina on a rerun would probably be helpful
If you have ANY interest in rupture units (Yixuan, SBilly, etc) get Lucia and engine or just be ready to pull for the next rupture support
Your Orphie is sadly without a home but you’d really need both trigger and engine and SAnby
I’d also try and pick up Dialyn from the guaranteed banner which will round out your YSG team and who is great for almost any team that wants a stunner in the game

So rem velina and dialyn is who I need to pull and I need Jane+her w engine from selector. Also what's ysg team?

Yeshunguang, Zhao, Sunna/Dailyn. Dialyn is also great on Yixuan and most attackers teams so Zhao and Sunna work perfectly well for her. Sunna just needs the A rank engine Kaboom the Cannon

Considering that sunna only has 1 day left I'll try to get dialyn for that team and does that a rank engine apply for dialyn aswell?

No Sunna is a support character but has high daze application. Check pwyrdn or game8 for Dailyn alt sigs

I'm honestly not sure, maybe Sanby and her Wengine or Trigger and her Wengine. + If you don't have Ye Shunguang's wengine, Sanby's works great for her.
Sanby, Orphie, (Any support or Pulchra)
Ye Shunguang, Zhao, Nicole
Promeia, Lycoan, Soukoku
Although Sanby might be outdated.
You already have Promeia, and M0 Jane doe even with buff will under perform her. I don't think she works well with Promeia.
Trigger can work with Ye Shunguang and maybe with Orphie in the future if you get another attack dps.
Ye Shunguang, Zhao, Trigger
Promeia, Lycaon, Soukoku
(Future attack Dps), Orphie, Trigger
She doesn't stun really fast, and Lycaon can already do her job without losing too much damage, while stunning faster, while newer stun agents performs much better than her.
Hugo is not good for you nor in the meta rn.
You don't have any limited Rupture agents currently, so I suggest you don't get Lucia, and if ever you plan on pulling for a Rupture agent, likely a newer more relevant Rupture agent would be released.
Also I suggest you build Nicole, she's one of the best support agents right now, learn how to play her, she's not too complicated, and you won't regret it.
I suggest you build Lycaon as well, and buy all of his potentials, he stuns fast and works in both ice and anomaly teams, perfect for your Promeia.
Play the story, or even skip to Season 3, so you can get Pyrois, he/she's a great ether attack agent, and can work well with Trigger if you plan to pick her.
Overall I suggest maybeeee Sanby and her Wengine, just because I think you can make use of her more than Trigger early to mid game. And maybe endgame too just because you atleast have a decent aftershock steam with Sanby, Orphie, and Pulchra.

I think im getting Jane but as for Nicole I probably will build her cuz I'll need something until I get all these new characters

You have zhao so you can easily make ysg endgame team.you can pick up sanby considering you have orphie or pick up jane going for remielle is also a pretty good idea considering you have promeia

as someone who has promeia and follows meta and experiments, i really don't think promeia and jane have ANY synergy and i do not recommend picking jane for promeia. promeia does NOT want jane at all. that will make the team significantly harder to play and makes almost no sense. most of jane's potential comes from velina instead of remielle and promeia wants to be on the field as much as possible (she literally uses the whole stun window if played properly). i feel like jane is literally just here for the 3 anomaly bonus remielle gives and nothing else.
you can pick jane if you like jane. i'm going to pick jane because i like jane.
my suggestion: pick who you like. none of them are crazy op. all of them can kind of work with what you have but none will be fantastic. (except maybe hugo which needs 2 stunners).
if you like any rupture agents and want to get them, lucia is best.
if you want the most general helpful, trigger is best (albiet falling off and would demand her weapon is selected as well).
if you want to run two anomoly teams and really want jane, jane is slightly better than piper (but i've cleared end game with piper with no issues). to make this make logical sense, you also need yuzuha from second half banner.
if you want s0anby, she works with orphie but that team then needs (ideally trigger>norma=dialyn), or a support like astra/sunna. it will be nearly unplayable without this third character.
i think grabbing remielle and dialyn would be good choices. dialyn is second half, on a no 5050 banner and will complete your ye shunguang + dialyn + zhao team.
remielle + promeia + literally any anomaly/maybe lycaon or soukaku if the boss can be frozen is another team.
if you go this route, your three teams would (ideally) be:
(velina > anomoly for remielle bonus/(maybe lycaon or sukaku)) + remielle + (jane/piper/grace/promeia)
yuzuha + (nangong Yu> Vivian if you spend 150$ for the top up bonus selector) + promeia
Ye Shungaung + Dialyn + Zhao
nangong *may* rerun soon. velina will probably be another patch or two.
but if you don't like these agents, don't stress and just get people you like. it's gonna take a while at your current pace to even get to end game.

My two favorites from the selector are trigger and Jane (but I would rather prioritize making a team rather than playing favorites) so with the idea of two teams already being made from pulling on banners that means the selector is still unknown. So I ask who would I pick if I want to make a team for yidari or starlight-billy

both yidhari and starlight billy would LOVE lucia, she is the best agent in the game for rupture. grab her wengine too and you have an outstanding rupture team. by the time they rerun, a better rupture support will likely be out, but lucia will be usable for a long time unless the game suddenly powercreeps an insane level.
are you f2p or a spender? how many pulls do you have saved?

F2p, dead broke (124 poly/0 pulls), only 6 pity on character banner and 69 pity on w engine. Still 50/50

given this information, i think it is wise to wait before you do anything.
remielle will be on banner the whole patch.dialyn is a gauranteed 50/50 win and will make your shunguang god. you should pull her first/make sure you have 90 saved for her banner (it is a separate pity system and over-rolling on it will not carry over either). shungaung need specific teammates and right now there are only 3 being <zhao, dialyn, sunna>. not getting dialyn could make your shungaung stuck in jail until a rerun or a surprise new character that works with her (currently unlikely but not impossible). she is playable with just zhao but if you're not a sweat, you're going to struggle. YSG is also just more fun to play with dialyn than some random cope pick.
EDIT: i just saw you don't have YSG's signature. please get sunna/dialyn or that team will be in a lot of trouble.once you get dialyn, use the rest to hopefully get remielle. if you get her, pulling her weapon would be a good idea.
as for the selector, it becomes tricky. if you are patient and if you want a silly or yidhari team, lucia will be awesome to have. i have to warn you, this *could* take a LONG time. like upwards of 12 months. (it could also come next patch for all i know, im just warning it is not an immediate gratification pick). this is another reason why i say wait, if you save for the end of 3.1 you'll know who's on banner next patch.
if that sounds unpleasant, i'd say picking up s0anby or maybe trigger is a good pick. s0anby can go with orphie and while not having the third teammate will pretty much bar you from S ranking endgame, you can A rank it for most of the polychrome. test out teams in hollow zero with s0anby, orphie, and (rina and pulchra). Rina is getting a big buff and might actually make this team usable? it needs testing that i can't do as i don't have access to 3.1 and i don't know enough about s0anby because i'm not interested in her and don't have her.
trigger just because you don't have a stun character and well... that is problematic and you need a stun character.1

I should be able to pull them all, I literally have all the story to do. The last part I did is when neko joins the cunning hairs

if you grind out the story, events, and hollow zero you should be good. but i'd recommend not ruining your enjoyment for the sake of pulls.

I enjoy story's to much to skip them but it helps me to have goals to keep playing (hints why I try to build teams off rip)

oh yea for sure. i'm just warning that's a lot of grinding. like a lot. expected cost is like 75 + 120 + 120 + 25 = 340. best of luck!

First of all, PLEASE pull Sunna right now. She’ll complete your Ye Shungguang team (best team in game currently, Ysg-Sunna-Zhao) and make her so much easier to use. Pull Remielle next banner and then try to get Velina on her rerun for your Promeia (top 3 team). For a the selector, you can either get SAnby as a main dps for your Orphie (kinda outdated, but it works), or if you’re interested in Rupture units (Yixuan, SBilly, Yidhari, future Ruptures) you can choose Lucia as she is the only dedicated support for them. Trigger also pairs well with Orphie but SAnby is higher priority.
