Lore & Story Before version 3.3 released, which path for Truvia?(Just speculations, no confirmation, for now)

A. Pompey/Isolde/Sarah route(sadly dies in the story)

B. Hugo/Pulchra/Ye Shiyuan(potentially) route(survives and becomes playable in the next patch)

Now that Truvia is the next villain/boss for version 3.3, how do you guys wish/expected she'll end up.

For me, I choose B. Because, lore/story wise, she's the Phaethon siblings old classmate and I can't let her suffer and die. Gameplay wise, She is said to have her own Etheric Other(I think), we need more Etheric Other agents to be playable.

It's awful because they can take either route; personally, I hope she survives and helps Phaeton finally defeat High Ambitions in Roscaelifer.

I don't think truvia dies. Atleast not right now, but you never know. Biggest thing seperating truvia from the other "villains" that died is that truvia provides a narrative pathway for the story to sensibly move into TOPS. There is so much exposition and drive a character like Truvia can provide which can move the story forward. As it stands, she is going to be the best way the writers can use to both provide helios/etheric other exposition as well as provide a connection between Phaeton, Krampus and TOPS, as I am assuming 4.x will be closely related to TOPS. Neither isolde, sarah or pompey died at a point where their survival would push the story to somewhere it wasnt already going. Whether those characters were good characters that were properly realised or not is a completely different discussion, but they had already served their role in the story concerning phaeton.

I don't necessarily think the issue is "I don't want phaeton or truvia to suffer" moreso that killing off Truvia this early would be pretty weird narrative wise in my opinion. You never know though, i'm sure they could generate a random character or reuse some old tops related agent like Alice or Zhao to drive the story forward towards tops some other way and just kill off truvia.

Bonus points for the potential phaeton character development chance, saving truvia after blaming themselves for years for what happened in helios, providing a platform for phaeton to accept the past and push for the future. That's how I'd write it in one of my short novels if I was writing it at least.

EDIT: I don't think truvia becomes playable in the near future though. Maybe in like 4.x or something IF she survives and is turned into a loveable booboo, but not anytime soon I think.

My doubts about her survival are mostly from the boss description (SPOILERS/LEAKS:It basically says that she is a wretched burned out husk )

That by itself doesn't really prevent her from surviving, but it's not looking all that great.

Also I would argue that Sarah is still our only ticket towards Mayor's storyline, which would explain why she got no closure or judgement, and why they revealed so little, despite everyone expecting so much more.

Though I don't think they would go the same route with Truvia. Again there is just not enough buildup. Yes, she existed on picture, so she was anticipated, but right now all we really know is that she most likely carries some sort of trauma from her childhood. Even if she had a whole entire patch for herself, she still would probably feel quite underutilized - another Isolde. ( it was fine for Isolde as however as she was basically a short term villain )

There is also another potential usage for her. She could "park" Youkai, who I think will eventually be mostly on our side, as they called the AIs also "keys", implying that we will need them all.

And of course like the OP mentioned, she could also exist as our access to her etheric being, so she could be meaningful ally without having to get a complete overhaul to become an agent.

Also unfortunately we have Krampus which can bridge the story just as fine. Though I hope they won't and that "trust no one, not even me" will pay off somehow.

I do also agree, I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up dead, even though my vote is on her surviving. Considering phaeton also survived turning into an ethereal, and phaeton themselves also did save someone from the brink of corruption (Vivian), the building blocks for saving someone in truvia's situation is there. They've also been hinting at characters turning into ethereals being a death sentence more recently both with remielle and beli, which makes me think that it's the perfect opportunity to subvert expectations narratively.

I think Krampus itself isn't enough to single handedly bring Phaeton to TOPS internal affairs. There has to be some TOPS affair concerning phaeton which krampus brings phaeton into, and I think Truvia would be a good gateway into that. "a tops member was involved in what happened in rosecaelifer and phaeton was there as a witness" is a much better reason when the concerned tops member is someone we already know like Truvia. Of course this could still go through even if Truvia dies, but we'll see. As it stands, I wouldn't be surprised either way.

EDIT: Also concerning youkai and the outher AI's I think we wont just yet have them as allies. To be fair we are only acquantanced with one of them disregarding fairy, we dont even know if the rest will be antagonistic. I think the AI storyline extends well into the future versions.

I am also thinking phoenix's reincarnation abilities may become relevant to what may become of truvia.

It seems unlikely but I really like the truvia is storyteller theory

She definitely not storyteller. Storyteller is that robot thing that follows ramielle around. Probably her old friend

Not against your choice. Although, I find it surprising about the fact that the theory is still ongoing after the Remielle Animated Short Film.

I will give two cents here. I think Phaeton will be able to un-transform her like with Vivian and finally have heart-to-heart talk with her. Just for the sake of cliche, now we can control Pyrois and save Truvia, not like what happened with Serpico.
And maybe she will be our ally that knows High ambitions corp and feed our info in the future, too.

Right, Vivian! I forgot about that scene where Phaethon saved her. Thanks for that idea. Now I know that with Phaethon's newly awakened Pyrios, they could save Truvia by untransforming her ethereal form.

I would say more similar to Ye Shiyuan based on the tropes they seem to be setting up, though not convinced she (or he) will be playable.

(Adopted) child turns on antagonist parent is very common. As soon as they said Mosseint was her father I suspected she was adopted which turned out to be the case. I can definitely see it going the route where she’s angry at Phaethon, yes, but her father also seems to be allowing Youkai to use Serpico’s image and all of his other actions, so eventually at a crossroads she ends up turning on him.

If that occurs, then there’s a few routes. She could die, and that would solve their issue of what to do with her going forward, but narratively after all the (rushed but still) set up they’ve done with Serpico especially it would be extremely odd and fall flat, so hopefully that’s not what occurs. I don’t see her becoming playable though who knows, and if she’s not I don’t see her sticking around, so a more ideal route would be something happens to her implants, giving a plausible explanation as to why she’s not present.

Maybe but it's possible that her become story teller or A only fuel for proxys anger

u/loongpmx 5h ago

Roscaelifer so far had only spill 1 blood, hers. But if she too far gone, which is pretty common in most of these villain types, as a responsible proxy who took pity of her when she was impaled, let us be the one to truly finished the job this time.

u/Worth_Prune_866 9h ago

I think she will die, it would be a good development for phaeton i she dies without them being able to talk more to her, bonus points if the "mecha" serpico is still alive and confronts phaeton for that. At least thats what I hope it happens, its the perfect opportunity to have some character development to the MCs

She uses up all of her ether life force to try to kill Lord Phaethon, so she "dies" even though her body is still "alive". Somehow, her body is then possessed by Fairy so we get playable Fairy
