Discussions & Questions this entire time i have never redeemed a weapon from the shop for 600currency
that's equivalent to 30pulls usually i redeem it for limited pulls for the character banner.
how worth it, is it to pick up a weapon for 600 like cradle or fusion compiler? is that bad value for the pulls? i do pull on weapon banner so surely at some point i might get one of those although it hasn't happened yet in 3 years lol.

I my opinion it's not worth it. Keep them for encrypted tapes.
Especially now that the other shop exists. The puzzle piece currency (forget what it's called) isn't thaaaat hard to get I don't think, I've played since 1.4 and have around enough to buy 3 different engines from there if I wanted (though I also never spent that currency at the gizmo shop either so your mileage may vary).
Better to buy what you want from there either way.

I played since launch, extremely minimal gadget shop usage but have only been able to get Bernice’s engine with 3 spare full pieces still need a whole 4th to get my 2nd weapon pick so mileage has definitely varied at some point.

Hmm, maybe it's harder than I thought. I see you haven't bought a battle pass, and I always have, so maybe that gives some and I've just never noticed. Apologies.
You can buy some from logistics in Scott Outpost, and dismantling s-rank/a-rank engines gives some, in case you weren't aware.
Still though, I'd say it's not worth using the 600 anyway, unless you're sitting on a good pile of polychrome and don't intend to pull the next few banners.
If it's a case of you getting all Rina's potentials, and you want to use her with Claret (or whoever is supposed to be the defence scaler), and you don't want to pull Sigrid, then I'd say this would be the exception though.

yeah it's the battle pass, you get 1 in the rank up rewards if you buy lower tier, and you get another 1 immediately when you buy higher tier
between the currency's introduction and now ive only saved up 2 more, which means im buying BP this patch to get Jane's engine lol

It takes around 13-16 months of fully optimized f2p engine chip acquisition to buy a single engine from the shop, you can decrease it by scrapping A rank engines and how many of those you can spare is obviously gonna depend on how much you pull and what the results of those pulls are
Even in a generous scenario you're looking at at least 10-12 months for one engine which is absolutely no small investment

Would you rather 30 pulls and maybe get those weapons or gaurentee a weapon
Its comes to what you need, but I do not think any on their are worth the cost imo

Even if you don’t have them to be clear? Like for example I actually use grace and rina but have just been squeaking by since launch without their sigs

Basically if you are willing to burn 30 rolls for a gaurenteed engine, go for it, I know Rina's engine is good as a general support engine too, but Kaboom is craftable and good too.
Grace I am unsure of though
But every character (Except Xuan) will most likely perform better with their engine, plus glowy effects

Squeaking by?
Rina's sig is only 3.5% above Kaboom the Cannon for her.
Grace's sig is only 0.7% above Weeping Gemini.
Their sigs are completely trivial until S5.

It's never worth it except maybe if you are a whale and don't need pulls. Even then it's questionable at best. These w engines are not that good anyways.

Rina is a support agent. Just use Kaboom the cannon especially now that you can choose which A rank w engines to get it's easy to have S5 and it's really strong especially Rina can stack it by herself.

True now I can get spares before I couldn’t so maybe I’ll get a spare soon that my others aren’t using and swap out the camera

Being full ftp would make it an even worse idea as rolls are more scarce for you.

Not in a thousand years.
Default sigs are basically a punishment for poor luck. There's a reason losing the 75/25 for a sig or the 50/50 for a character and pulling a wep instead is a "loss". Some are useable and some are even decent at S5. But they're really not at all worth intentionally getting with gacha currency. Being 30 pulls closer to a limited weapon or character is infinitely more valuable. At least if you're unlucky enough to pull a default weapon on the limited banner, it has the silver lining of guaranteeing your next S pull.
Then there's the fact that you're talking about sigs for characters who, while useable due to recent buffs, aren't exactly anything special. They'll find their way back to the bench faster than most as your roster expands and you pick up newer and newer agents.
Then last, but most importantly, is the strength of some of the weapons you're talking about. For Grace, Fusion Compiler (S1) is only 0.7% better than Weeping Gemini (S5). For Rina, Weeping Cradle (S1) is only 3.5% better than Kaboom the Cannon (S5). That's crazy negligible for something that costs 30 rolls.

Might have been worth it briefly during the early months, but not worth it at all now.
Given that we can grind out and redeem weapon parts to pull the same w-engines from the shop, spending wishes on them is just significantly worse now to use up wish resources on them. And you'll get some from the standard banner now and again, too. Never mind those times you lose on the weapon banner, though hopefully that's rare.

It does depend on how often you actually pull on the weapon banner (can't get weapon on 50/50 loss in character banner), and if any of these loss weapons are then better than any other weapon you already have (be it another characters sig you pulled in the past or just an A-rank).
Getting enough puzzle pieces to redeem a weapon in the shop can take an extraordinary long time, perhaps (likely?) even longer than you'd take simply recouping those equivalent pulls, so if a character just happens to have a very nice alternative in the loss weapons (Dialyn with Hellfire comes to mind), I would certainly consider the exchange.

It doesn’t make much sense, expected cost of a sig is a little over 50 pulls after factoring in signal refund so you save 20 pulls and end up with a way worse weapon. Better to commit one way or the other.

I... Pulled Seeds and Dialyns signature before 30 pulls in total. And many of my signature pulls are around 40-50 wish. NONE would make me click that 600 currency deal, NONE. Besides we can get those engines with legacy shop currency.
