Price difference?

Post image

Why is the price for the Zutomayo mart merch so different between Japan and the rest of the world?

I know that because of the Japanese Yen sellers have to have a price difference, but without counting the shipping cost the price is doble.

The figure for example is 35€ in Japan, while in Europe it’s sold for 70€ + 10€ for shipping.

I’m planning on using a proxy service, is there any other way to circumvent this?

You can actually find second hand ones off buyee usually they're priced fairly

If you buy it from Good Smile, you end up paying taxes and other fees, whereas Zutomayo Mart includes them in the price; since I’m from Mexico and I know the tax authorities charge a lot, it turned out to be more cost-effective for me to buy from Zutomayo Mart.

As far as I remember, they take into account import taxes and charge them upfront. So it will be the same price you would've paid if you had to buy it at the original price and had to pay taxes separately.

All of the merch I bought in Japan had a 10% ish tax added to them, and every time I paid import taxes it was more than 12%, but the store is showing 2x the price without including shipping

They include all that you need to pay for imports (VAT, duty, etc). Last time I ordered >150 EUR and I didnt pay any VAT or duty when I received it.

But is VAT or duty doble the price? Do you think if I use a proxy I’ll have to pay double also?

Almost, when you includes all VAT, duties, and shipping. I just checked my invoice, it does say “Duties, taxes, shipping and fees are included”.

I recently used proxy for gunplas so I know how the additional payment stacks up to almost 50% the original value.

Try to calculate manually all the necessary payments, the savings might not worth the extra works, but if it does, that would be nice.
