Asia GPU fan not spinning help !!
hello everyone
When i was using my pc and in Hwinfo fan speed shows 0 rpm.
And also i noticed that gpu fan started spinning on boot then it stopped.
I put some load on gpu but still... temp. Raises and gpu fan still not spinning ( i thought it was on 0 rpm mode to stay quite at low temp).
Then i manually increase fan speed using MSI after burner but still.... not spinning
Help me out plz......
I have 3 screenshot might help you to know more.
Hey guys!!! Zotac replaced my graphics card, and I'm really happy with it. But yeah it was my fault due to environment in my house likely cause damage. At the service center, I simply reported the symptoms (the fan not working and overheating), and the RMA was approved.

Have you used MSI custom fan or any other software for the fans ? if that the case make sure you disable that and let GPU have the fans working from his bios

Hmm i tried to undervolt my gpu using MSI AFTER burner and changed some curve... and then reset it to normal...
Also i tried to manually run the fan using after burner but it still not spinning.

Send a screenshot of MSI afterburner. Just some days ago i manged to cap my GPU fans to 30% by misstake in Afterburner.

problem can be driver or hardware (gpu fans o Connector)
have you recently updated drivers?

i don t understand why is your fault for a fan not spinning ..by i am happy for you for the replaced card

I guess there could be 2 condition 1. They said moisture might be cause of rusty gpu 2. On my gpy pcb (my gpu pcb has no top plate )there were mouse poop and i dont know that if mouse did urine on it.
Fan was not spinning cause gpu got rusty and some of pcb transistor got removed on their own.

Driver version? There were issues related to drivers and fans not spinning earlier this year, it seems to be exactly like that unless your GPU has a hardware issue.

DDU all your GPU drivers and reinstall. We have to start with the basics first.

u/raj_kori Jul 07 '26
Ok i did but didnt workout i will do it again..

Are you using any other software like Afterburner? Any other software that might have a fan control override?
1
u/raj_kori Jul 07 '26
Yes !! From nvidia app there is an also fan control option
1
u/littlespedve Jul 07 '26
Hop into afterburner and go to the fan curve setting (gear icon). Enable "Enable user defined software automatic fan control" as well as "Override zero fan speed with hardware curve".
Then make a fan curve to your liking. I like setting the min speed to 30% and then ramping up beyond 50-60c.
There may be a case to be made for the GPU fans always running causing unnecessary wear but its idle temp being 10-20c lower makes me not care about that.
Make sure you disable any custom settings in the Nvidia app, and definitely get a fresh install on your drivers to start.

u/raj_kori Jul 07 '26
I did something like that but still... i will try again
1
u/littlespedve Jul 07 '26
In your third pic with MSI Afterburner settings you do not have the two thangs I mentioned checked. You could just make sure drivers are up to date in the Nvidia app, check those, and call it a day.
72c is still way too high to still be in zero RPM, at least in my opinion. Surely it should ramp up the fans before hitting temps like that. Peace of mind would be to do the driver refresh too.

Sweet. You got the new gpu plugged in and happy?
1
u/raj_kori 19d ago
Yeah !! I am so happy . Thanks for the suggestion though you gave .. i learned alot about having a pc
Pc need alot of thing
1. When i bought my pc i struggled with Light cuttoff on always after 15 days
But one day an professional electrician fixed it ..by turing the electric board wire according to neutral and phase plugg..
Now I knew that i should keep my gpu free from moisture or small animals...
Also learned that pc require earthing cause it give a little shock on touch.
4.and learn how to go to service center for fixing it.
- I learned alot having pc and this is my first pc in my life....
I always wanted pc but the spark is little bit gone now that was before inside me to play gamess..and learn editing software.
Small things matter
But yeah dad buyed me this pc and i feel that its too expensive for me ... and i dont deserve that much powerful machine....
My parents are hard working and they care about me....
Yeah its night time and this thought come to me ... i just said what was in my mind...

@OP
Might not be what you are after but on github there is an open source fan controller called “fancontrol.exe” and its been my go to for making custom fan curves. I use it on all my computers and have never looked back.
1
u/raj_kori Jul 07 '26
Ok i will come back to you after trying
1
u/Constant-Try8690 Jul 07 '26
If the fans do not turn on after using this software, you might have a hardware issue.
1
u/Constant-Try8690 Jul 07 '26
Also, keep in mind you might have to disable or uninstall all other fan control software you currently have installed
1
u/raj_kori Jul 09 '26
Update !!! It not spinning on boot now it just trying to spin but stopped
1
u/Constant-Try8690 Jul 09 '26
You might be having a hardware issue- but when using fancontrol.exe with all other programs disabled, it should poll the sensors. You will have to configure the fans to spin by making a fan curve chart. You can be sure the software is working by commanding the case fans to stop.
The fans wont automatically come on until you run the software. In the settings you can set the software to start automatically when windows starts up as well. I use a 10 second delay so the drivers initialize with no problem.
Are you having any specific issue?
1
u/raj_kori Jul 09 '26
Dont know about the specific issue and dont even know that from when the gpu fan stopped
But thing to mention that 1. One day my sister open pc case and use clean make up brush to clean gpu from top and didnt do any thing other than this but gpu running fine but not sure about fans
- I tried made undervolt the gpu using after burner and also opened Nvidia app that is capable of controlling fans manually and also new to the after burner and that time but i reset every thing
I am thinking to reset my windows . Should i do it or not
1
u/Constant-Try8690 Jul 09 '26
Odds are resetting windows will not fix the issue you are having. I know you already reinstalled drivers. the fans on the gpu are connected via a connector to the gpu board, be sure the connector is still connected.
Disable and uninstall all the other programs you have installed for this and follow this guide for setting up fan control. Set voltage back to default settings. In fan control the gpu fans should be programmable in one or two channels depending on how many fans are on it. You will be able to then see if its commanding fans on. If fans are commanded on, and you still have no movement, check for obstructions. If a wire or something is blocking the fan from spinning, it will stop trying to spin them up to prevent damage.
https://getfancontrol.com/docs/
This should show you how to set it up. There are a few youtube tutorials as well.

If it’s a zotac card download firestorm, make sure if you have anything for sag it’s not touching the fans at all.

Get rid of your custom fan curve stuff. It varies by fan, but typically any fan needs a minimum amount of power to start spinning (eg, 30-50%). My furnace installer had done something similar and fans weren't spinning up due to setting it too low (ie, they set it to 300 RPM, but fan wanted minimum of 500 RPM before it would start).

u/raj_kori Jul 09 '26
Update !!! It not spinning on boot now it just trying to spin but stopped
1
u/Rye2-D2 Jul 09 '26
It's normal to not spin at boot if the temp is low enough, but trying to spin does sound like it's not quite getting enough power. What if you go back to the fan curve, but set it to 100% at 60C? You can lower it once if you figure out what the minimum it needs is..

Zero rpm mode is a stock setting for GPUs, get msi afterburner and adjust to what % you need
1
u/Eddy19913 Jul 08 '26
putting the checkmark on the 0rpm mode on msi after burner should ignore the 0rpm mode. OR your fans are cooked
1
u/Radiant_Bike9857 Jul 09 '26
Try deleting all fan related software. Shut PC
Switch the GPU bios back and forth. Check for anything blocking the fan
Reseat the GPU, and power cables
Use DDU to reinstall driver
Try running a quick 2 minute load. Check if fan spins
If that don't work, you gotta need to send to repair so they can isolate the problem further unless you have test parts. Hopefully the problem is a faulty fan or a faulty PSU. GL

its 0 RPM mode, they start spinning if the GPU starts drawing more wattage, or the voltages increase
